  2. AlisonM Says:

This is going to sound like a big suck up but when in a slump I just sign up for another class and off I go again. Thanks for the giveaway Shimelle.

  3. Laura Says:

I really don’t mean to suck up to you, Shimelle, but stopping by at your blog always inspires me. I look for some details in your layouts that I like, then I gather pretty paper around me, sprinkle fotos on top and everything falls in its place.

  4. Catherine C R Says:

In the past I would go to a scrapbook or art store, look at all the pretty goodies, buy a few “essentials” (HA) and begin again. However, these days I just go with it. Play with pictures, rummage through drawers and somewhere along the way it comes back full force. I am currently in a slump & think I may need to take a class (my first!) and get re-inspired. Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. tape Says:

I’m not really sure because my current streak has been going on for years and before that I didn’t scrapbook regularly enough to have any slumps… or was it all one big slump?

I scrap every week. I take inspiration from challenges, new products, photos and memories. I take lots of classes, I go to crops. I have a crafty blog. I think all of these things keep me from losing my mojo!

  6. Cheryl Birkey Says:

I’m currently in a scrapbooking slump which left my lying on the couch all day…the plan, however, is to start crafting first thing tomorrow morning-my fave time to craft.

  7. Becly @ Pieces of my Life Says:

  9. Leslie Says:

When I’m in a slump, I gather a couple of photos that inspire me, and then I pick a collection of papers from 1 manu that match the photos. I then head to the manufacturer’s blog and search for a layout by a dt member using the line I picked. I begin by trying to scraplift the page exactly. Sometimes, I make close to an identical copy, but most of the time this process gets me out of my slump and I create something totally different than the page I decided to lift!

  10. Betsy Says:

Whenever I get into a slump I simply walk away. That may sound strange but I find that if I leave my craft room and go and do other things (like all those chores that tend to stack up while I’m crafting!) my brain still stays with my project and mentally moves things around on the page. Sometimes it may take a couple of days but eventually, my brain says “a ha! now I know what you need to do” and we’re off and running again! 158. Angela Hathikhanavala Says:

When I’m in a slump, first I clean, then I kit: I take some supplies I want to use and go through my stash to create a couple kits I can use to scrap multiple photos. It usually works because it makes old stuff feel new :)

  161. Ash Kay Says:

I’ve never taken an online class before, but I’m intrigued by yours! I have yet to work out what to do when in a creative slump for a specific craft, but I have many types of craft I enjoy so when I’m having a slump in one, I play in another!

  175. Cynthia S Says:

I have been so inspired by your 4×6 Photo Love class that I NEED to take The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Scrapbooking. When I am in a slump I always have found that an online class gives me that push to just “stick it down” and get on with it! Love your work Shimelle!

  176. Carol W. Says:

I tend to get caught up in the cycle of looking rather than doing. I browse Two Peas, Pinterest and other sites only to realize I am overwhelmed. Need Help and this class might be the push I need to get over the slump. Thank you!

There is so much inspiration available that its more of a problem deciding where to start to look! Whenever I’m in a slump, it’s straight to Pinterest, where I can easily browse through all the inspiration I’ve collected and find an element that sparks something inside me. 192. Sheryl Says:

I am not so much in a slump at the moment, just don’t get enough time for scrapping – so when I do I am overwhelmed by all the things I would like to do, and get very little of anything done at all. That’s why I jot down little things that I can use when I trawl the web – either a sketch, a combination of accents, a colour combination – then I can be a little more focused!

When I’m in a slump, I usually will look at my inspiration file on flickr. Sometimes, I’ll just buy one or 2 things (some fun paper, pretty flowers) something that I can get really excited about. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in the Hitchhiker’s class.

  200. lynn brown Says:

I have had a year long slump, just feel overwhelmed by my supplies and where to start. Using sketches usually helps but this class would jump start me right back again.

  205. Amanda Says:

Thanks for the opportunity to win! When I am in a scrapbooking slump, I tend to not scrapbook at all and work on other artistic endeavors instead. Sometimes I might start to gather items that I think go together … but often if I’m truly in a slump, I get stuck, and don’t scrapbook. I’d love to win a chance to be in the first ever workshop at Two Peas! :-)

  210. kate bucci Says:

When I get in a slump, I get some photos printed. I always have a stack ready to go, but I look for ones with a story that really inspires me. Sometimes they’re the dodgy blurry ones off my phone :)

  215. Carly Says:

Usually I just wait it out until inspiration hits, but lately I’ve been getting inspiration from challenges at two peas and from your site and others like it. I’ll learn a new technique from a scrapper’s youtube video and then I have to try it and then I start thinking about creating a layout where I can use the technique.

  216. Cathy Says:

When I hit a slump, which is like burn-out right now after LOAD 212, I am going to start organizing and cleaning out my area. I always find something that gets me back in the groove!

  217. Rachel H Says:

When I’m in a scrapbooking slump, I either choose a layout I love and scraplift it, or I choose a brand new paper that inspires me and use it in a layout.
thanks for a chance to be Hitchhiker!

  218. Susan Jephson-Jones Says:

I get out my photos, there is always something I want to scrap. Then I look at other scrappers layouts to inspire me. If that doesn’t work, I just keep the photos in mind and wait until inspiration catches up with me!!

  219. Helen B Says:

I’m not just saying this… but Glitter Girl has really helped me recently, to the point where I do not want to stop scrapbooking (too bad I have a 9-5) :)

But generally going through my stash and picking out papers and embellishments that I want to use usually does the trick. I’ve been able to use a lot of the tips and tricks from the Glitter Girl series, and I’m looking forward to your class.

(I’m also getting caught up on your 4X6 photo love series from last year, not sure how I missed that one..)

  220. Nicole Says:

The answer is 42… Always 42.. Which is usually the number of projects I have on my mind, lol.

  233. Christine Kiehl Says:

Win Win Win, how I love to win…and create. TGIF.

  234. Kim Nobles Says:

When I get into a slump, I find something else to do. Creativity has to sort of flow from me, or it’s pointless. I envy people who can seemingly make beautiful LOs on a whim…doesn’t work that way for me. Looking at the work of others is helpful as well.

  235. Angela W Says:

When I get into a slum I look to Shimelle for inspiration. I love the title of your new class lol (Hitcher’s Guide to the Galaxy is one of my favorite movies lol “Always know where your towel is”). Thanks for a chance to win.
