CHA Summer 2011 :: Simple Stories
When I got to the Simple Stories booth, I won’t lie. I was mostly all about the Christmas. Show me the Christmas, I may have said. And show me they did.
Like how they made a 6×6 paper set for the Christmas collection, but they didn’t just shrink down the big papers – they even printed the journaling cards in a petite size, perfect for matching your embellishments, large and small, and of course useful for Christmas cards.
Loved it. Show me more! I pestered.
And they did. A Christmas collection filled with pages divided into all different sizes, perfect for a Christmas journal.
And at last – a set of Christmas numbers that includes more than just one to twenty-five. I mean really, it is one to twenty-five, but it is one to twenty-five three times. Which means you can make the extra numbers you need if you want to keep your Christmas journal going for the whole season. So very happy about this.
Also letters and borders that will be perfect for creating quick Christmas entries.
And so I was pretty much in love with the Christmas collection and talked to them about all sorts of fun we shall have in December with these papers and stickers and I probably sighed a lot.
Then I decided I should probably at least look at the other collections, right?
Happy Day is for birthday themes, and the colours scheme would work for pretty much any age and both boys and girls (or men and women). Which is smart for your stash.
Generations is a family memories or family tree collection, with distressed papers and lots of red and brown in the designs.
Then Baby Steps is quite clearly a new baby line, perfect for making a baby book. Although I was completely distracted by the nicety of their Christmas collection, I do have to say Simple Stories is a great way to get started with scrapbooking – because you can just use the different pieces as boxes to fill in like an entirely premade scrapbook – but it can grow with your creativity as you can cut it apart and add layers of goodness. This collection – with page protectors, an album, adhesive and a good journaling pen – would make a fab shower gift for someone who isn’t even scrapbooking yet. Maybe the idea will take over and she will be your bestest crop buddy.
But you know, don’t let her get too close. She might nab your Christmas stash while you’re not looking, and that would be a terrible tragedy for you.
You’ll see these lines arriving in stores over the next month (and not surprisingly, I’m using this – along with other things – in this year’s Christmas journal). Click here to shop for Simple Stories products!

Ha Ha, after drooling over the keyboard, wondering how big a fight Bo Bunny and Simple Stories would have to become my JYC collection this year, I get to the end to see that SS won your heart. Bo Bunny is hoping against hope that it means I will go for them……..mmmmmmm LOL

I’ve not heard of this company before but I do like the look of a couple of their collections here. Love the darker reds in the Christmas range.

Love the baby steps line. I have several coworkers having babies. I feel a mini book brewing. Love the colors for the rest of the line.
