Scrapbooking Giveaway Day
This weekend, one commenter and a friend of her choice will win a place on Shimelle’s new class Scrapbook Remix.
Scrapbook Remix is an online scrapbooking class that shares the secrets to mixing patterned papers of all kinds and then creating a range of pages with this combinations. We’ll talk colour, pattern, scale, size, technique and more. The class includes both PDF and video prompts: a total of twenty full-colour PDFs and eight videos over four weeks. In each PDF prompt, we start with a different paper collection, then analyse it and remix it with other papers and embellishments to create four or more different looks. The video prompts include a mix theory discussion (showing exactly why some patterns do and do not work well together) and the step-by-step process for creating specific scrapbook pages. All the featured layouts are brand new.
Wondering how this class is different to Pretty Paper Party? well, Pretty paper party gave you all sorts of ideas of what to do with paper to create different looks, but Remix breaks down the details of patterns themselves. Looking at colour, proportion, weight and more. We’ll identify not just which papers go with others, but why they work so well.

I am so looking forward to this class starting. I think my favorite line right now might be I lowe scrap but I am not sure as I have only seen it online. Waiting rather impatiently for some to get to me. We will see if my love is real in a few days

I’ve never thought about having an all-time favorite line! I love anything Lily Bee, but in terms of actually going out and buying the whole collection, I’ve only done that once: BasicGrey’s Nordic Holiday last year. I intend (I meant to do it last year as it was happening!) to make a December album for my daughter’s first month with it (Husband is Norwegian, so we chose a Norwegian middle name for her, and she was born Nov 30— the collection was perfect!)

I don’t remember the name of my all time favorite paper collection…but it was a green/blue collection with some browns & a little bit of sparkle… I still have a few scraps, I ration that stuff like gold!! [it only came w/ like 8 sheets, all different, double-sided w/ a different amazing pattern on each side…it was so hard to choose which side to use!!] Sorry for the ramble… I’d love to win :)

I love Amy Tan’s latest line and they are so good for mixing with other papers. I used to love Basic Grey but I find them difficult to use other than with other papers from the same collection. Maybe this class would help me.

Oh, this is such a difficult question! My first idea was actually the Tim Holtz distress coredinations cardstock, but that isn’t a paper line. I use it in almost every project I create… I use Basic Grey Basics a lot, but I always combine it with other lines… If i have to make a choice, ok two, On my must have list is Jillibean soups Soup Staples 2, and from my stash it is Heidi Swapps Sugar Chick… I think…

My favourite collection of all time? That is hard to answer yet easy at the same time. It was a collection of Basic Grey papers that I bought when I first started scrapbooking 5-6 years ago? The store had a mix of Sublime, Color Me Silly, Fusion and Lucky. I gathered up my favourites and it still fills my heart with such joy. Then a couple of years ago there was a big sale where my LSS had gotten in a whole lot more of the older BG ranges so I bought a whole lot of the same papers again. Adore! It is so hard to pick a favourite paper line, I loved almost everything from Scenic Route. How I miss them.
I think Cape Town and Laurel were my favourite collections!
Now, I am totally loving Echo Park :)

I love too many, that’s why I have to take this class, but if I have to pick just one I’d have to say an old Basicgrey, not sure of the name anymore, but it had one paper with circles in squares, in denim blue and pink colors. And their 12×12 letter stickers were my first letter loves before thickers.

Hardest question ever… I want to say Daisy D’s because I miss it so much-it was the perfect paper for scrapbooking ME from babyhood til now! And, though not popular, I love DCWV & Sassafras for scrapbooking my kids growing though childhood. I’m loving Echo Park and American Crafts for my teenage granddaughter. I love MME & K&Co for my mom and heritage layouts. But I guess if you want to know the most enduring over the past years, it’s been Cosmo Cricket-I think I’ve bought more Cosmo Cricket than any other brand. I have way too much paper but each subject I scrap has it’s own personality.

My favourite paper collection of all time has to be EP’s Victoria Gardens, I think. I bought it on a whim and then decided that it was too ‘florally’ for my tastes. It sat on my shelf for months and I came very close to purging it, then I took The Perfection Collection class at TS3 and decided that would be a great collection to use as if it didn’t work, it wouldn’t matter. As it turned out, I LOVED IT!! It worked perfectly with some pictures from Cornwall that I had and I then went on a mad hunt to buy another pack!

How to decide?! Naming a favourite manufacturer would be hard, but a single line! I’ve loved so many, depending on what pictures I had to scrap. I suppose there are some common denominators, though – nice thick papers, double sided, nice clear (strong) colours, no glitter than will come off and stick to the side of my nose and leave me cross eyed, can’t smell too much (some do, don’t they, and not just of papery gorgeousness). I think I would go for a BG collection – how about Origins – loved the lushness of those. (though I loved marrakesh’s elephants and beautiful blues, the earthy tones of archaic, and the whimsy of lime rickey too, and the cool prettiness of marjolaine). I would love to do the class – and I have someone in mind for the extra spot – a friend for whom nothing is too much trouble.

I can remember loving walking into the office supply store back as a child and even then just loving all the nice clean blank pages ready to be filled with magic! One favorite line? That’s a tough one, so I’m going with the first one that popped into my mind! I spent a lot of time with the SEI Savory line. The colors were perfect for a European trip I took, so I did my entire album with it! (If I were allowed to mention others, I’d probably talk about how much I love Echo Park’s Little Boy collection, or just about anything from MME, Simple Stories, & October Afternoon, but I’m commiting to SEI Savory! ;P)

My all-time favorite collection? I guess that would have to be Heidi Swapp’s old travel line from several years ago – and this is totally based on the number of times I reordered the papers and used them!

What I am using now is my favorite collection from Studio Calico – Memoir. It’s not brand new but I love the colors and style!

My all-time favorite paper collection was BG’s Obscure. Everybody else seemed to hate it… but I loved it. I think I ended up buying 3 collection packs over the years. And used them all!

I am already signed up to your class but I really want to win this for my sister who has just started scrapbooking and is feeling a bit overwhelmed!
