I love this photo...with Maria Grace

I love this photo by Maria Grace Abuzman

I am Maria Grace Abuzman and I love this photo because it reminds me of the value of surprises. For this particular shot, I asked two of my friends to run crazily toward me. What they ended up sharing in this single captured moment is their love story. I can see it. Can you? I am continually surprised with how much people share of themselves through photos and am honored that they share it with me.

The adorable Maria Grace has designed for Hambly Screen Prints, Two Peas in a Bucket and Fontwerks, as well as a featured album for a CK kit of the month designed by Ali Edwards. Her pages have appeared in books from Autumn Leaves as well as Creating Keepsakes magazine. She loves eating sushi, reading romances, and people watching. She is a wedding and portraiture photographer based in the San Francisco area and is undeniably in love with life right now. Read her blog, Momentary Bliss, here.

A day for earth tones

a day for earth tones

Shaking it up just a teeny bit for the weekend as we go into colour combos rather than just single colours. Today, be on the look out for warm earth toned colours like browns, yellows and maybe more green too. See if you find them indoors or out!

Leave a link in the comments as per usual!

I love this photo...with Karen

I love this photo by Karen Russell
© Karen Russell

I am Karen Russell and I love this photo because I just like the golden tones in this shot and the light reflecting off the sand, the water and the rocks. I also like the little patches of color set against the bright sky, like the blue polkadot swimsuit my daughter Annie is wearing and her yellow beach basket. I also like that it’s a completely candid, unposed shot. I take plenty of planned, posed portraits and I like them just fine, but honestly, I much prefer candid shots. I just love the authenticity of a candid shot; that little moment of (real) life documented. That’s what I REALLY love.

Scrapbooking has changed Karen Russell’s life, as something that started as a hobby, drew her into page design for publications, then into the design of scrapbooking products with her Narratives line for Creative Imaginations and then into her own business running photography classes helping hundreds of others gain joy from their cameras. Snapshots of a Good Life, her blog, shows the style of photography she uses to capture beautiful images of her family and everything they do.

I love this photo...with Ali

I love this photo by Ali Edwards
© Ali Edwards

I am Ali Edwards and I love this photo because it is so Simon. The sheepish little grin. The coat & gloves. He’s in one of his most favorite spots in the whole world at my parent’s place on the Oregon Coast in the tall grass. I love how much he loves it there.

An advocate for not making things more complicated than they need to be & embracing imperfection, Ali Edwards shares cool concepts, design, and project ideas in her idea books: A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking, A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper, Life Artist, and Sharing Your Story: Recording Life’s Details with Mini Books. She also writes a monthly column, Studio A, in Creating Keepsakes Magazine.
Ali lives in Eugene, Oregon. She enjoys travel, reading, politics from the sidelines, and spending time with her husband and two children. Read Ali’s blog here for a variety of scrapbook projects and notes from everyday life.
