What about incredibly large gloves?

I really should be going to work right now but I must share two things:

*Yesterday I finally finished a wonderful book I could have read in one sitting but instead read over three weeks, in bits and pieces. After I finished it, I just sat looking into space. I’m unsure how to continue living my life without a bit of it at the end of the day.

*I put tiny felt hearts on ribbon alice bands because clearly I am not too grown-up for hair baubles. Seriously, I am always the oldest person without children in Claire’s. And I thought I was being grown-up shopping in Accessorize instead, but recently I have noticed the clientele there is still young. They just happen to be teenagers with more pocket money. Oh well. Anyway, the point of this was to laugh that I have spent a good half-hour trying to take a photo of my head with said heart-enduced alice band. I have achieved taking rather interesting shots of the kitchen, the dining room, walls in general…even my shoulder, but not actually the hair band. I hope this is not a sign for the day.

{Clearly later I will just have to get someone else to take the picture!}

Have a lovely day, off-the-wall photos or not!

ROFL! I can just see you struggling! Try turning the camera towards yourself and looking at the LCD screen in the mirror to get the shot you want. Well, it works for necklaces. I can see hairbands might be a whole other issue!! Hope it wasn’t an omen!! xx

Tee Hee self photography is always an interesing endeavour. I gave up eventually. And you’re not alone in frequenting Claire’s and Accessorise. I have a thing for brooches and novelty earrings.

If ever I try self photography the results end up in an image that is rather scary for some reason I always look shocked.

lol! I always feel really old in Claire’s too! But it always draws me in, so many fun things there :)

Claire’s…yes, good store. I have an excuse to go in though. I have an eight year old daughter. It makes buying things in there less akward. :)

  6. Sarah Says:

Are you willing to share what the book was? I have been known to cry at the end of books, not because they were particularly sad but because I can’t bear not to know what happens next. That’s the best kind of book.

I often feel sad when I get to the end of a really good book. I’d love to know what the book you were reading was called if you are happy to let us know.

hee hee! I love Claire’s stuff too, cos I love anything brightly coloured and rainbow coloured is even better!!! And I’m twenty-four and childless . . . you’re not the only one after all!

PS bought a bright yellow plastic alice band today to match my Little Miss Sunshine top – is that childish enough for you?

  9. Zoe Says:

Ooh I love a good browse in Claire’s.

And you must share your highly recommended book. I just read “The girls” about conjoined twins. I really enjoyed it if you are looking for another one.

I go to Claire’s all the time and I’m 26 with no children. But I do have a Monsoon account card to buy stuff in Accessorize, makes me feel more grown up. I get told off at work because I wear multi coloured patterned ‘children’s’ socks with my black shoes!

  13. Alexa Says:

Please share which book it was! i shop in Claire’s too, hair accessories rule. I can’t believe Sara got told off at work for waering cool socks, clearly not a fun place to work!
