It's a train ride

It seems I read blogs in geographical clusters. Does everyone do this? As I have spent most of my life in two places completely obsessed with the weather, I now obsess about the weather in the cities most prominent in my blog reading. So when Portland or Boston have snow? I totally feel like I am missing out.

So today I add my own little wintry scene so if you have no snow and read more than one English blog, you are likely to either feel like you are missing out or snowed in. Either is fine.

An authentic snow day, with school cancelled before the first flake appeared and the boy was due to travel but called it off for the weather. We have been very productive in our snowed in day, half-watching terrible films, doing some paperwork, baking and searching for episodes of Mad about You on YouTube. For the record, I managed to find the entirety of the episode that jumps back to tell the story of how Paul and Jamie met. The rest is just clips. Is this still in syndication in the states? I’m guessing it’s been overtaken by Friends and such, but I’ve caught Seinfeld in a hotel now and then so maybe it is still out there. Anyway.

Anyway indeed. Snow is slushy now. And doesn’t my neighbourhood just look so…overly coordinated? Oh well.

Also? I am bothered by the fact that it is currently colder in London than in the French Alps. Whoever invented snow cannons, this year I think I love you.
