CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
Next up: the second scrapbooking collection from Amy Tangerine, entitled Sketchbook. It’s bright and watercoloured and looks great with kraft cardstock and graph paper. Sketchbook ships to stores this March.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
New Thickers letter stickers in foam, glitter, and wood-grain chipboard.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
Another pack of mixed die-cuts to match this line. I am on pack four from her original collection, so definitely looking forward to these!

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
So much happy here! From left, a Camera. Printed. Album. YES! It’s a fabric-covered D-ring album in 12×12, and you can add anything you want to the window in the middle. Then the new set of clear stamps (includes the phrase ‘how lovely’ which I will obviously overuse). Paper rosette details. And two new Daybooks: one in white and one with a spiral binding to add to the existing five volumes in the Daybooks series.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
Canvas stickers – love this texture. I was curious how the colours would print on canvas but I’m happy to report they look great and match the other items perfectly. There are also new tapes (black and white prints) and ribbons to coordinate with this line.

A look at the lovely papers – cameras, dots, hearts, splashes of colour.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
This line makes me ready to be done with grey winter. Bring on summer photo opportunities and scrapping in happy colours.

And some general prettiness around the booth! Are you itching to cut and glue and layer now?

CHA Winter 2012 :: Amy Tangerine Sketchbook
This made Amy the first of the Two Peas Garden Girls I found on the show floor. Amy has some fabulous fun scheduled for later in the show with some interactive art, so I have to head back to see that! (Don’t worry: I’ll take pictures.)

If you’re attending the show, you’ll find Amy Tangerine in booth 1057, as part of the American Crafts family of brands.

Ready for things to get really photographic? Because really you want to see pictures of all these lovely new crafty things. Got it.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
And we’ll start with the always-lovely Jenni Bowlin Studio.

The JBS booth features four new collections to check out: two new paper lines (Magpie and Wren), a beautiful mix of new alterable items and the recent release of JBS punches from Fiskars.

If you haven’t seen the punches, here they are! Border, squeeze and lever punches, and these have just hit shops. You can find them here.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Seriously beautiful punch layering, right? So pretty.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Magpie is the first paper release – this will ship to stores in mid February. Magpie has a beautiful palette that mixes some softer tones with red and a tiny bit of black to keep it versatile and not pastel.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies

The new Magpie stickers include a mixed sheet (perfect for everyday scrapping documentation!) and very cool hexagonal stickers that are a great new twist on the expected circles and rectangles. I love how Jenni always gives things a simple change – it makes all her products so very easy to use but still exciting and fun.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
The accessory sheet has border strips with both handwriting and coffee labels? I promise I didn’t pay her to do that. But I love it.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Love collection packs? You’re all set. Plus more hexagon stickers – red/black and cream/black to match pretty much everything!

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Onto something else: Mixed Media Bases. So many things to decorate, keep around the house, and otherwise beautify life. A chalkboard easel? Small storage box with ‘handmade’ motifs? Definitely.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Will you hang necklaces, crafty ribbons or beautiful tags from something like this hotel key holding board? I wish I had something so cute in my old office when we had a million keys to keep straight!

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
Here’s how they might look once you art them up. Love that idea of adding a photo and some writing of whatever is a current event in your home – so change it up for holidays, birthdays, graduations, student of the week, awesome new haircut – whatever you want to celebrate!

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies

This line also includes new clear stamp designs, printed pockets and tags (perfect for divided page protectors!) and plain chipboard in both button and tab shapes.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
And this little vignette sets the tone for the second paper collection, Wren. Wren ships to stores in April.

CHA Winter 2012 :: Jenni Bowlin Studio scrapbooking supplies
It mixes beautifully with the pockets and tags, with a crisp blue and red colour scheme.

I love how the collection makes me think of Sunday brunch at a favourite diner, though it could certainly be used in patriotic designs if you’re so inclined.

And one last little addition: die-cut papers in kraft and white. Can’t wait to see how these look layered and misted and painted and inked. And the repetitive designs would be great for cardmaking for events when you need a whole set to match. Perfect for a vintage-themed wedding, right? (Come on: someone wants me to make pretty things for your vintage-themed wedding. Apparently it is frowned upon to like the idea of making more wedding things once you’re already married!)

And my face may look at a little this, surrounded by all these beautiful papers and projects! (This page is by Stephanie Howell – and the projects throughout the booth are by Jenni and the JBS design team.)

If you’re attending the show, find JBS at booth 1773. (And I’ll be there Tuesday from show open till around 1pm, if you want to say hello and put me to work!)

Right – start making your wish list!

In just a few minutes, the doors will open to the winter trade show from CHA – the Craft and Hobby Association. And I’m very excited to be here blogging all this fun! Look for your favourites, brand by brand, throughout the next four days of posts.

welcome to cha
And a little something extra special: I have more than $200 in gift certificates to give away throughout the show. Ten commenters between now and the 2nd of February will be randomly selected from all the comments left on the CHA posts to win a $10 gift certificate to Two Peas in a Bucket and even better? One person will win $100 to spend on anything you wish at Two Peas. A hundred bucks! This prize will be selected to a randomly chosen from all the comments left and those who pin a post to Pinterest or share a link via Twitter or Facebook. Share your favourites with friends and you’re entered to win – possibly the easiest hundred bucks ever.

Right – I’m off to run through that door and start snapping photos. I’ll be updating frequently over the next few days and I hope you see something that strikes your fancy!

CHA Summer 2011 :: Jenni Bowlin

Finally, the very last of my summer CHA posts! All the brand new things from Jenni Bowlin Studio. First up, the treat box! It comes with the dividers and the inside surfaces are covered with a non-themed pattern and then you can add whatever you like, to use it as a display or storage piece. Store owners can even use this near the till for last-minute sales of small items.

Jenni also has new products in her Jenni Bowlin for Ranger collection. I’ll let her introduce those to you herself:

(Thanks, Jenni!)

On to the paper collections! The first full holiday collections from JBS. A vintage Halloween line mixes with the existing products, like the mini bingo cards.

I love that the papers may be vintage in design but they work perfectly with modern photos and the colours are crisp and bold.

scrapbooking supplies by jenni bowlin studio
Speaking of vintage, how amazing are these vintage boxes in Jenni’s display? They are about a hundred years old and were for tobacco, but I love how they say ‘scrap’!

scrapbooking supplies by jenni bowlin studio
These mini spools came out at the winter show, but I had never thought of using them for a minibook spine.

scrapbooking supplies by jenni bowlin studio
For the Christmas collection, vintage themes with bold colours, just like the Halloween collection. This is definitely going to be in my Christmas journal, and I love that shade of green for the lettering.

scrapbooking supplies by jenni bowlin studio
Also new to the collection are foam stamps to go with the paint dabbers. Borders, backgrounds and butterflies? I’m in.

What is this? I have no idea! And of course I asked. It’s super secret… but I am intrigued!

CHA Summer 2011 :: Hambly Screen Prints

I always love the Hambly booth – a big aqua-coloured box of happiness in the form of transparency, washi tapes and funky projects.
scrapbooking supplies by Hambly screen prints
My sadness of the discontinued camera paper from Studio Calico that I loved so much was somewhat remedied by this new print from Hambly. These cameras will definitely be coming to my albums soon!

scrapbooking supplies by Hambly screen prints
Just wanted to show this layout (by Amy Tan) to highlight the background paper – silhouette designs were all over the show floor and Hambly have had these in their collections for a while. But I love how this is such a great pick for photo booth strips – whether taken in an actual booth or created with your computer or phone.

Christmas loveliness in elegant reindeer and a detailed damask, the latter of which would work throughout the year too.

Hambly’s new collections ship about seven weeks from now (eight from the show). Click here to shop for Hambly Screen Prints products!

CHA Summer 2011 :: Lily Bee Design

scrapbooking supplies by lily bee

Lily Bee, just what would I have done in the last six months without your letter stickers? I ran into some members of the Lily Bee design team the very first morning of the show and my first question was Are there more colours in those amazing letter stickers? That’s how much I love them. Fabulously, the answer was yes.

scrapbooking supplies by lily bee
And a green themed Christmas line! It’s really lovely and such a nice change. It’s called Jingle.

scrapbooking supplies by lily bee
The LB design team shows how lovely these papers can look in your album. So very pretty.

Head over Heels is a romantic, cool-toned collection. Will work for Valentine’s Day of course but that’s not a necessity as this collection isn’t really about heart motifs. Polka dots and doilies and florals make it far more versatile.

This was my very favourite layout of all the pages on display on the entire show floor at CHA. I just love this. It’s by Cindy Liebel.

CHA Summer 2011 :: Echo Park

scrapbooking supplies by echo park
scrapbooking supplies by echo park
Echo Park has never waited for CHA to release new lines. Since they opened their doors, they have brought out a new collection every six to eight weeks to keep plenty of new designs on the shelf. They work with several different designers, so the collections have varied looks too.

scrapbooking supplies by echo park
Their booth didn’t have the biggest displays, so my photos are a little disappointing compared to the actual collections. There are three Christmas collections, really: your choice of either a grown-up or kids line, plus a Christmas-coloured extension of their Dots and Stripes collection, that also includes metallic silver and gold.

scrapbooking supplies by echo park
scrapbooking supplies by echo park
Plus the Happy Days collection, inspired by 50s happiness, but the papers have lots of versatile patterns that aren’t overly themed.

Although I don’t have lots of pictures to share here, I do have to chime in and say I love how it’s so easy to work with Echo Park collections. The colour schemes are always well coordinated but not completely predictable and there is a good mix of bold and subtle patterns. I find these are papers you can keep using to the very last scrap. Good stuff for scrapbooking and cardmaking.

CHA Summer 2011 :: LaBlanche

stamps by lablanche
stamps by lablanche
Artsy stampers would love this booth, from German stamp manufacturer La Blanche. I’ve never seen such detailed stamp work, so I must admit walking around here was more like visiting an exhibition in a gallery than shopping for stamps!

stamps by lablanche
See what I mean? The stamp designs themselves have these tiny yet flawless details that stamp so clearly. But admittedly: I haven’t tried these stamps. Is it in the technique or the product? Because I can’t underestimate my own personal ability to smudge a stamp. But the designs I saw demonstrated stamped absolutely perfectly.

stamps by lablanche
The various examples shown used techniques like watercolour, marker and ink-pad painting to bring the images to life. They also look lovely heat embossed with a very fine detail powder.

stamps by lablanche
Their stamps come on these white blocks that are very light weight – so more suitable for mail order and carrying to a craft day.

If pretty and detailed is your thing, La Blanche will be right up your street! (Google for stockists in your area. They are based in Germany but stocked by shops in the US, UK and Canada plus others.)
