Aww, that's the end of the scrapbook party?

scrapbook page

Thank you so much for joining me for this weekend-long celebration of scrapbooking! Shall we do this again some time?

I have just one final challenge for you and again it’s a thinking challenge rather than a making-things challenge.

What five scrapbook pages have you not made but feel you should?

Answer this question either in the comments or on your blog (then leave a link in the comments) any time between now and noon UK time Monday. One randomly selected entry will win a class pass for two people so you can take a class of your choice and invite a friend to join you!

It has been lovely to see all your projects this weekend and I can’t believe how busy some of you have been with the creating! I hope you enjoyed it and found a little something up your street. To support parties like this, it always helps if you take an online class or click here to shop for your scrapbooking supplies as those things make it possible to buy and post prizes and otherwise keep the website online. Thanks for your support, as always!

And one last song to finish, I think!

Round of applause for Shimelle … I have had a great time at your party. I’m off to watch Cougar Town now!!!!

  2. Mel Says:

Oh wow, another really tricky challenge to finish! OK, first up, THANK YOU SO MUCH SHIMELLE for all the hard work you’ve put into organising this, it’s been amazing :-)

    Right, pages I haven’t scrapped…

I should make my daughter’s baby page to go alongside my son’s.
I should make a page about my grandparents, to honour my grandfather who died a couple of years ago, and to please my grandmother – I mustn’t leave this too late.
I should do a page about my dad. I don’t think I ever have, because I don’t have many photos of him – my parents divorced when I was little – but I need to make the page anyway, even without a photo.
I should scrap that photo I took yesterday of a silly but special moment!
I should ‘Scrap My Day’ for March 25th before April 25th arrives….

Ah well, the evening is yet young!! ;-)

  3. Anso Says:

Thanks for a fantastic crop Shimelle :)

My five pages I have not made but should:

    * A followup to my eye condition layout

    * Scrap a favourite cat of mine who’s no longer with us

    * Scrap my slide photos (dad scanned lots of slides from when we were little)

    * Scrap my grandparents on my mum’s side who are no longer with us

    * Scrap my grandparents on my dad’s side who are no longer with us

    …kinda a theme there of difficult subjects…

  4. lisa Says:

That is a really tricky question! I would have liked to have done a double layout or multiple layout {does that make sense?}.
Thank you so very much for a very wonderful weekend ~ yes please, I would love to do this again sometime!!
    Thank you :)

  5. heather Says:

thanks Shimelle for all the inspiration this weekend! i haven’t been able to do too many layouts but still did more than usual. plan to try some of the other challenges another day when I have more time & no exams to study for! thanks again :)

  6. Carolyn Says:

Thanks Shimelle for a great party and hope to do it again some time in the future. Off to finish my pages and then load them up.

  7. Cathy Says:

What do I still need to do?

    - Honeymoon photo/LO of us at Karnak Temple in Egypt – LO about DS1’s bag being almost as big as him on his first day at school – LO about me and my friends from school who I am still good friends with now – LO about moving to our new house – LO about our new paddling pool – first photos of it taken today!

  8. Fiona Says:

Thanks for a great weekend, have managed to do a few challenges.
What pages have I not done that I should have – birth pages for my sons
    layouts about my in-laws
    pages about my Dad
pages about my hubbie when he was young
the time when I exploded coke all over the kitchen

mainly have not done these pages as I do not have many or any photos of them.

  9. Lizzie Says:

Thanks Shimelle – this has been great! Yes, we should all do it again some time (maybe soonish?)!

    Hmm… 5 Pages I should scrapbook?

    - My Dad – I have hardly any photos of him and I should scrap the ones I do have.

    - A page about the Four Generations of Girls in our family (Gt.Grandma, Nanna, Mummies and Babies)

    - A page about how special my DH is!

    - An “All About Me” book (that’s several pages, time I got started then!)

    - A Page about me & my DS.

  10. Aussie Mon Says:

Thanks Shimelle I’ve enjoyed the couple of layouts I managed to do this sunny weekend!!

My top 5 of I really should but havent…. * I haven’t done any of my family, * layouts of my close friends * a photo of my bro and I as kids * The new forest – which i love * The toughest one – I have a photo of my parents when they got married in their countries traditional dress (we’re originally from South America) My mother looks so young and they ended up having a not so great marriage. I havent spoken to him for many years but feel this photo is important as it is a vital link to my heritage. One day I’ll have the strength to face it.

  11. Karen Williams Says:

it should have been my Mum’s 60th birthday on Friday. I would have loved to have been able to have scrapped five layouts of that.

  12. Fay Says:

Thank you so much for the time you’ve put into this weekend. I’ve really enjoyed and it’s helped to kickstart my mojo!

Off to think about my pages I should but haven’t yet scrapped.

  13. Jacqui Vale Says:

Thank you so much Shimelle for a wonderful weekend – I have managed the grand total of one layout and one teeny tiny cupcake album (all that need photographing and the light is now too bad, so bang goes my chance of a prize). Doesn’t sound great, but as the slowest scrapper in the world this is pretty spectacular. I have LOVED the music and associated films (I NEED to go and order a copy of Pretty in Pink which is sadly missing from my collection). Five pages, gosh, that’s not many as there are SOOOO many I would love to do, but ones I should have done are:-

Something to do with our wedding or at least how we met and were engaged and had bought a house together within 6 months.

A page about how my eldest son, Kieran, makes me so proud dealing with the battles he faces with his Noonan’s Syndrome

A page about friends past and present, especially as I have hooked up with so many old friends on Facebook.

A page about my wonderful, amazing mum – there for my sister and I through thick and thin.

A page about my dad, a man I barely know as he died when I was 4 but who is very, very dear to my heart.

Thank you again and I would love to do this again and try not to feel overwhelmed by how much everyone else manages to produce. xx

  14. KikiK Says:

Congratulation Shimelle and huge thank you!!! Much to do ahead! This my friend is a tough one… in no particular order
    grandparents my mom’s side
    grandparents my dad’s side
    my family tree
a LO only for my DH
any personal childhood LO(but I’m working on it)
a LO….oh no! you said 5! don’t get me started on that and this nightmare called been-caught-up!!!! lol!
    once again Thank you!

  15. Peggy Says:

Only five? I can think of at least a dozen. Top five I’ve been procrastinating: my late father-in-law’s IM page, my friends’ late berner dogs’ IM page, my parents’ 50th anniversary “then & now” page, Janette’s wedding, Shannon’s baby pictures page. That’s just the top layer of the “to do” pile. Thanks for everything Shimelle! (Back to work now — way, way behind.)

  16. Annie M Says:

There’s so many that I should do, but here’s my top 5 that I should do:

-the group photos from my 4 years in dance class
-a layout about my best friend and why we’re friends
-a layout about the “new normal” of my life after divorce
    -my Hawaii trip
-a layout of some vintage pictures of my grandparents from the ’30’s

Thanks for a great weekend of challenges, Shimelle!

  17. Donna B Says:

What a fab weekend, you are such a talented lady. We have enjoyed all of it and we are so proud of you.
    I should scrap albums of
    each of my Grandchildren,
    so that’s five albums and
    two Great Grandbabies.

  18. Gemma Says:

Booo . . . i don’t want the party to be over :( Here are the pages I really should scrap:

    1. my best ever creative writing assignment from school – its a quirky story, i’m sure you’d love it shimelle!

    2. my graduation photo

    3. my disastrous trip to sri lanka a few years ago

    4. my recent exam results!

    5. drawings I did as a child

    and loads more!

    thanks for the party :D

  19. Scrapdolly Says:

Shimelle first of all thank you so much. I have had a fab weekend and am so grateful for all of the hard work you have put in. I have loved every minute of it.

Five pages I should make but haven’t

    1. The story of what happened to my Mom when she passed away. I must do it, but it’s still raw even after 20 years

    3. A page about our Iceland holiday …. I promise you I will
    4. A page about my Willow Tree Angels
    5. A whole album full of pages about my wedding …. I haven’t done this and last week I found my wedding chest full of invites, plans, cards, letters as well as loads more pictures so I must get on to it.

  20. furrypig Says:

Wow this has been the best weekend ever for me and scrapping!! Even DD said ‘you’re on a roll’ as I continued scrapping! Thank you so much Shimelle for all your hard work, I really appreciate it all and hope you do it all again sometime!

    Thanks again, Shimelle!!!

  22. SharonS Says:

Many more, but these are what came to mind first.

  24. Clair Says:

Well, I’ve only managed one full challenge (with another partially completed) but I will definitely be using this weekend’s challenges as prompts for my next pages.

As for my five, I should probably get around to scrapping –

    1. My brother and sisters.
    2. My home (and certainly my craft space.)
    3. My new job.
    4. More of my favourite music.
    5. And, just for a laugh, a page about my shrinking feet (they went from a 6 to a 4!)

Maybe during the next party? :)

  27. Kirsty Smith Says:

Thanks Shimelle for a lovely weekend of posts. Really enjoyed it!

My top 5 To-Scrap pages are:
My grandparents, especially the limited photos I have on the paternal side.
The places I lived as a student.
    My graduation.
Group photos of my friends that I made them pose for (taking inspiration from the LO in this post!)
My addiction to tea. But I have yet to take a satisfactory picture of a cuppa that conveys the wonders to be found within its golden depths. Tricky!

  28. Daphne Says:

Thank you Shimelle for that busy weekend! I would love to do that again!
    These are my 5 pages:

    * my latest certificates (have just become a swimming teacher)

    * a book of me or something like that to look at who I am and what I want to do

  30. Juel Says:

    5 things I should scrapbook:
    1. My 16 year old son’s rock collection. Especially the heart ones he has given me. 2. My 23 year old daughter’s funny faces.
    3. My son and his dog. His baby is getting old.
    4. My youngest daughter 14 and how much her compassion, love for life and faith inspires me.
    5. More pages of my friends.

  31. Christine Crowson Says:

Only five! That’s a difficult one, as I have so many.
Tintagel Castle…Lands end…Easter egg hunt…how our garden hs changed over the years…A celebration of my Dad’s life (who passed away in September 2009). There are just so many and too little time.

  32. Alaina Says:

That’s a difficult one but I think I really should create more pages of my parents. That’ll be way more than 5 layouts. And probably more about myself, even some using no photos at all.

  33. Rachel Says:

Thanks for a fab weekend Shimelle. I’ve really enjoyed the party.

5 things I really should scrap

    1. The rest of our Honeymoon in Iceland

    3. Daniels scan picture
    4. My mum, dad, sister, brother and Nanna (just don’t seem to have many photos of them)
    5. Jacob’s Thanksgiving (bit like a Christening)

  34. Lara Says:

Oh, I ADORE that scene from High Fidelity! Fab choice.

    OK, I really should make:

    1. A page with a list using numbers. I saw a ‘you and me in numbers’ LO at Studio Calico and it was amazing.
    2. One of my parents together. I always seem to scrap them separately. No idea why, they’re very happy!
    3. Old photos. As in really old, family tree-type stuff.
    4. Pics of me and my grandparents. Only have one granny left and need to capture those special memories.
    5. An LO dedicated to my brother, who’s off traveling. Haven’t seen him for 6 months :(

It’s been a fab weekend Shimelle. Many thanks!

  35. Sandy Says:

Thnak you so much for a fun weekend! I have been a spectator only, not joining in as away visiting, but have dipped in when I can thanks to a borrowed lap top.
My five layouts I should have done are:
    1. My wedding photos from 1975.
    2. My daughter’s graduation (they are still on the camera!)
    3. A photo of my late father as a little boy – the only one we have of him as a child.
    4. A layout with me in it – I never have my photo taken if I can help it!
    5. My favourite picture from my once-in-a-lifetime trip to Egypt – I keep changing my mind as to which pic, and how to set it out.

  36. wendy Says:

Shimelle – thank you sooo much for a great weekend :O)

As for the pages I haven’t made – all of them belong in the album of our son that we lost 6 years ago. One day I will be brave enough to make those pages

  37. nan.sinclair Says:

I have loved this weekend, and all the hard work you have put in really shows. I have managed to do all but 2 of the challenges so am really proud of myself, my most productive weekend yet.

Have you anything planned for national scrapbook day?

The 5 LO that I will scrap when I sort myself out…i tink most of these will fit into an album about me which I have planned to fit in with the celbrate life album I started.

    1. My glasses collection (inspired by your earlier prompt and my 6 pairs!)
    2. My Hello Kitty collection, I have shelves full of stuff, but it is not something I have ever scrapped about really.
    3. My job and workplace, I spend most of my time their really so would be good to record it.
    4. My old flat, I have everything to do a mini album just have not got around to it yet.
    5. And I would love to scrap mine and the BF weekend away in Derby, but the camera broke and all my pictures with it!

Thanks again Shimelle, I look forward to future classes and to carry on with my Document:2010 project too.

    Thanks
    x

    3) Natalie’s baby photos taken before digi- MUST do that!

  40. Nicole Says:

Yes, I want to say think you, because you have gotten me to scrap again, which I needed to do.
    My five would be:
    1. Turning 30 (happy stuff, but introspective).

    3. My Grandmama… She’s all sorts of Halo playing awesome!
    4. Motor home trip through the US.
    5. Chicago trip with a dear girl friend of mine, she had a gallery show!

  41. QSOgirl Says:

What an inspiration your party has been! Even though I haven’t had a chance to participate as much as I’ve wanted, I have “starred” your challenges in my Google reader and will be coming back to them :) So thank you.

As for five pages that I haven’t made that I should…
    1. any/all pages for my wedding. this in itself is far more than five!
    2. pages about my doctoral defense. what an ordeal… but it’s over!
    3. pages for each of my three (so far!!) anniversaries. I want to keep a special album of anniversaries for my husband and myself.
    4. pages about what I am dreaming about today (my aspirations/hopes/goals)
    5. pages about my husband— he actually asked me to make some pages about him and his lab!! I feel so honored!!

  42. Irene Fitzpatrick Says:

    Thank you, Shimelle!!XX

  43. Lynn Says:

Had a great time this weekend, thanks for so many great challenges :)

These 5 LOs are top of my list to scrapbook at the moment, along with all the party challenges I didn’t have time for.

    http://mylifeinascrapbook.blogspot.com/2010/04/5-pages-i-want-to-create.html

  44. Diane Says:

Thank you so much for all those lovely challenges and inspiration pieces. The weekend flew by and I had a good time – and I finally sat down and scrapped a bit again :)

Hmmm… This is another one that is difficult for me… Let’s see:
    1. Old family pictures – I’ve accumulated them in the 100s now but still need to scan and then scrap them (at least some of them)… Dread that project and therefore haven’t started yet…
    2. Pictures from my childhood, so far I’ve only done 1 LO with them.
    3. Everyday life pages – really struggle with them.
    4. Finish the Doctor Who exhibition album I started 1.5 years ago.
    5. Make a few pages for my auntie who would be over the moon if she had some.
Hmmm… I’ll get to this – bit by bit :)

  45. Annette Navarro Says:

I had a great time this weekend, thats for the party & crop! 5 pages I should scrap are:
-My grandparents on my Moms side.
-My grandparents on my Dads side.
-I’ve always wanted to do a layout of my son’s school photos thru the years from K-12th grade.
-a page of just my parents.
-a page of our pets (2 cats) I’ve never scrapbooked them.

  46. Jennifer Says:

Hi Shimelle, it’s been a brilliant weekend, I can’t wait for party number 2! Bring it on!

The five layouts I should make are:

    1. A page of my gran and grandad when they were young.

    2. A page of my nan and gramps when they were young.

    3. Christmas photos from 2009. I promised I wouldn’t leave them all year this time, but so far nothing’s happening!

    4. An early pic of me and hubby; I’ve been doing lots of wedding layouts, it would be good to have one of the start of ‘us’.

    5. A page about my daughter being not so perfect. At the moment if you saw my scrapbooks you’d think she can do no wrong!

Thanks for all the inspiration – I’ve got plenty to keep me going for a while!

  47. NancyLee Says:

It has been a pleasure to be invited here Shimelle. You are such a great host and so generous! It felt so liberating finishing the class and join in some of these challenges- I didn’t have to worry about using old stash and not in current fashion. My album is here# and my take on some of this challenges here#. For my wish list: I would love to scrap my collection of pictures; my collection of pps from SC; to finish my Christmas album; to try Kelly Purkey’s sketches from her 1st and 2nd class; to scrap with good layouts and designs. Thanks a million!

  48. Shannon Hager Says:

Wow, what a great 3 days of challenges. I love you challenges. They were also perfect. I just wish I would have been able to complete more of then. Just not enough time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! You are so awesome!

  49. NancyLee Says:

I’m afraid my post didn’t go thru but I hope Shimelle you recieved my email as part of my gratitude to this event. It was such a great pleasure and here’s my link the party challenges.

  53. scrappysue Says:

Its been a great weekend Shimelle, just sorry I couldn’t make anything during the crop (life and all). There’s tons I still need to scrap about … my wedding, twins as babies, my homes, my Mum and Dad, my “rock chick” years, memorabilia I have collected. All on the to do list!

  54. janice ponto Says:

such a busy weekend shimelle!! my five pages i should scrap-my deceased grandmother,my sons adoption,my illness and how my life has changed,my father-in-law(deceased),and my nephew who died of cancer.thank you for all the inspiration!!!

  55. Nikki M Says:

Haven’t been able to participate much this weekend (2 girls under 5 years) but did get 1 page finished!

    Let’s so…tough question.

    1. Miscarriage of my daughter Kate’s twin. Tough page to make but I think that I need to do it.
    2. Our move to the Middle East. Another tough one. I am a snow, snuggle in front of a fire, hot drinks kind of girl and living here is…tough.
    3. A page about me and hubby. Never done one. MUST DO ONE! Not many pics of us together. Even after 14 years.
    4. Page about me and my sister. My best friend. My pal. My shopping bud. My only roommate other than the hubby.
    5. Page about music that I love. So want to do this and just need to do it.
Thanks for the challenging question and for the inspiration.

  56. Lorna Says:

    Ohhhhhh noooooo :(
I loved joining the party, it was a first for me but would do it again.
Hopefully will be on a more time friendly weekend cos would have loved to do more. Thanks for inviting us Shimelle.

  57. Katie Says:

Hi Shimelle – a big thank you for hosting this party! I may not have managed many of the challenges but I’m feeling the most inspired I have for a while now.
And for the five scrapbook pages I have not made but feel I should:
    1) at least one (and hopefully a whole album!) of our wedding
    2) The reasons why we moved to NZ
    3) My feelings and thoughts on approaching motherhood (baby due 9th August!)
    4) How I met my husband and our first few years together (before I started scrapbooking)
    5) Our engagement story (I have been procrastinating this for ages due to lack of a photo of us both together when we got engaged).

Thank you for having me. I had a lovely time!
These are the pages I need to do:
    1. my wedding photos (although I did a 10th anniversary page!)
    2. My best friend, of whom I have surprisingly few pictures
    3. Re-do the ‘me when I was young’ pics I used when I first starting scrapbooking.
    4. My work
    5. My Guiding mini-book, which has been hanging around undone for so log that I’ve mislaid some of the most precious pictures

  59. CoCo Says:

Thanks again so much for running the cyber crop shimelle. I have got a new lease of scrapping life and am going to try to keep it up….(and finish some of the challenges). The LOs I haven’t scrapped yet…I am tending to do recent ‘of the moment’ type stuff, as it’s the things I’ll forget but I’d like to scrap:
Historic family ones (lots of old B&W)
    My childhood ones
More of our second daughter (even though inroads were made this weekend)
    Our wedding
More about me – generally more journalling too.

    Thanks again!

  60. Zahra Says:

Thanks a million. Wonderful online crop.
Unfortunately my mum was sick and I had to take her to hospital. But I have a terrific day on Saturday. Thanks again.

  71. Danielle Barton Says:

Hmmm, 5 layouts I should do. Well, first I should do at least ONE wedding LO considering I’ve wanted to do a whole wedding album and haven’t got that far, so I figure one would be a good start.

    2. I’d like to do a layout about my mum and I because she really is my best friend.

    3. I’d like to do one about my childhood home. My mom recently sold it which was really hard and I took tons of pictures, again planning on doing a whole mini album.

    4. A LO about me and who I am. I am seriously shy when it comes to myself and I’d like to have one good picture that I like with snippets about me.

    5. A layout about my first car. I used to be obsessed with taking pictures of it, and still don’t have a layout about it.

    HELP!!!

How much do I love the fact that, w/o reading your text, I couldn’t tell WHERE IN THE WORLD that group photo was taken. So representative of the fact that we women/moms/wives/sisters are so much alike anywhere we go. LOVE THAT. I do have to say, though, that these women look particularly sweet and friendly! :-D
