Scrapbooking Giveaway Day
This weekend, one commenter will win a class place on the Step Up Your Scrapbooking Workshop with Lynn Ghahary
Have you ever finished a scrapbook page only to feel that you were missing that “something special”? Perhaps you are new to scrapbooking and looking for ways to take your layouts to the next level. Or you might be an experienced scrapbooker who is feeling the loss of your scrappy mojo, and looking for ways to increase the creative appeal of your pages. Well then this is the workshop for you!
You’ll find this class packed with surefire ways to take your layouts to the next level with a toolkit full of tried and true designer tips and tricks. The techniques outlined in each lesson are straightforward and easy to follow, but really pack a big punch in the design department. You’ll find your layouts have gone from “good” to “great” just by following a few of the design guidelines covered in this class.
Each lesson will focus on one of five main design categories: backgrounds, photos, titles, journaling, and embellishments. With 10 lessons per chapter that’s 50 designer tips & tricks to refer back to when you’re faced with your next “what’s missing?” dilemma. A brand new, never before seen page example by Lynn (as well as some other special guest designers) accompanies each lesson to help get you started. Additionally, an informative PDF and instructional video is provided for each chapter. Each video not only reviews the lessons included in the chapter, but also features the start to finish process of one of the chapter layouts as well.
To enter, just leave a comment on this post describing what technique you find yourself using time and time again.
Entries close at midnight Thursday UK time and the winner will be posted Friday evening, so be sure to check back to see if it’s your lucky day!

I’ve already started this class and it’s grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! Love, love Lynn G. :-)
21 September 2012, 18:20
Looks like a fantastic class! Thanks for a chance to win!
21 September 2012, 18:36
it looks interesting, I have been scrapbooking for many years now, but have done munch during this year so I want to learn as much as possible, and btw this site helped me really get going
21 September 2012, 19:01
Class looks like fun. Most recently the technique Ive been using the most….if it can be called a technique LOL is shimelle lifting! Heavens I have never done as many pages in my life as I have since I started that. Even set shimelle.com as my home page.
21 September 2012, 19:24
The technique I use ALL the time is die cutting! I use my Cameo on nearly everything I make, but sometimes I feel like it lacks a little something. I’d love to take this class to get some new ideas! Thanks, Shimelle!
21 September 2012, 19:29
The technique I use over and over are the layouts I learned from my old yearbook class!
21 September 2012, 19:39
This looks like a great class!
I really love Lynn’s style.
21 September 2012, 19:45
I love her style, and this class looks awesome! Thanks for the chance to win!
21 September 2012, 19:48
Looks like a great class
21 September 2012, 19:49
Is matting photos a technique? I find I am much happier with my photos mounted on a thin (usually black) piece of cardstock. I also like to cut about 1/2 inch off of the length and width of the page and mat the entire page on a sheet of paper.
21 September 2012, 19:50
I’m a scrapper that likes to layer and add depth to a layout. Thank you so much fr this chance to win a great class!!
21 September 2012, 19:51
I am a big fan of layered 6×6 papers with tabs and stickers tucked in.
21 September 2012, 19:54
I like to use embellishment in groups of 3 :)
21 September 2012, 19:59
I am addicted to hand stitching!
21 September 2012, 19:59
Ooooh, this class looks super useful. The technique I use all the time is misting. I love to make a little bit of a mess on my pages. =)
21 September 2012, 20:07
I play with pretty papers—that about as technique as I get. Clearly, i need this class.
21 September 2012, 20:09
Looks like a great class. I seem to go between stitching, misting or doodling. Thanks for the chance
21 September 2012, 20:11
Hmm nothing really comes to mind. I guess the fact that I always use the computer. Typed journaling, silhouette, photo editing. . . Guess I am very technoscrappy.
21 September 2012, 20:27
i guess my most used technique lately is layering paper and embellishments
21 September 2012, 21:09
I love sewing on my layouts!!!
21 September 2012, 21:21
I always turn to hand-stitching on my pages when I feel that something is missing or I need to fill in a gap somewhere. This class looks fantastic.
21 September 2012, 21:36
My favorite is fussy cutting!
21 September 2012, 21:40
I’d LOVE to take this class! And I always, always layer.
21 September 2012, 21:52
Most used technique right now is hand-stitching. Time consuming, but so worth it! I’d love a spot in this class. Thanks!
21 September 2012, 22:01
This class looks really interesting. Thanks for the chance to win a spot Shimelle! My favourite technique is to ink my edges – even stickers. If I can stick it to my papers, I will try to ink the edges!!
21 September 2012, 22:18
I’ve been incorporating more stamping in my layouts.
21 September 2012, 22:36
I love Lynn’s style so this class should be pretty amazing! I’ve been using less patterned paper lately.
21 September 2012, 23:12
I ink the edge of everything! Looks like a fab class to help with page designing :)
21 September 2012, 23:18
I need this class! I’ve been adding washi to the top and bottom of all my layouts. I would love to learn something new!
21 September 2012, 23:27
I use Thickers alphabets for most of my titles – sometimes I’ll do a subtitle in smaller fonts, but almost always the main title is large Thickers.
21 September 2012, 23:58
Thickers are my new love. I’m trying to get more creative with my titles.
22 September 2012, 00:04
I’m relatively new to scrapbooking so at this moment, I do not have any techniques that I use time and again although I do tend to do some stamping on my LOs. Would love to win a spot in this class. Thanks for the chance.
22 September 2012, 00:25
I am using lots of layers on my LOs! Thx 4 the chance to win!
22 September 2012, 00:37
This class looks super fun and helpful! Thanks for the fun giveaway!
22 September 2012, 00:57
I always am inking at least two or three things on each layout I make
22 September 2012, 01:13
My style is pretty simple. The technique I use the most right now is inking. Thanks for the chance to win this great looking class.
22 September 2012, 01:57
I’ve been thinking about taking this class. For me, I’ve recently started doing clustered embellishments. Just simple with a few layers, but I’m quite enjoying it and they show up on many of my recent layouts.
22 September 2012, 02:07
What a great looking class! I find myself stitching on every layout. Can’t get enough of it!
22 September 2012, 02:11
Great looking class. I tend to ink the edges of everything.
22 September 2012, 02:12
I really like faux stitching a lot..this is probably the only technique I have :-)
22 September 2012, 02:35
The use of sketches is my mainstay
22 September 2012, 02:35
I sew and sew and sew. Love the look it gives. And ink.
22 September 2012, 03:02
The class sounds great. I’m really into using clustered embellishments these days after watching your videos and checking out your pages. Thanks for the ideas.
22 September 2012, 03:11
Any sort of stitching – matchine, hand or just drawn on.
22 September 2012, 03:28
Oh, I’ve been thinking about this class, so the chance to win it is great. The technique I always use is inking. Nearly every piece of paper on my page has inked edges.
22 September 2012, 03:30
I love to stamp! Thanks for the chance to win!
22 September 2012, 03:44
I’m definately into layering….card,paper,embellishments….if it moves,layer it!!
22 September 2012, 04:03
I feel that I need to leatn each and every day…I believe we change, and so do our styles…so winning this lesson with talented Lynn will be a blessing1
22 September 2012, 04:18
Sounds like a fabulous class! Since following your blog I find myself using embellishment clusters more and strips of paper!
22 September 2012, 04:24
Mine is splattering the background sheet I just love the effect it gives to the finished page.
22 September 2012, 04:34
I’ve been developing my style lately adding more layers and embellishment clusters but my newest fun is adding stitching! I was always afraid but now I can’t stop. :) Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway!
22 September 2012, 04:37
This is a new one for me. Will have to check out. Clusters of embellishments which I try to triangle
22 September 2012, 04:44
Great class! I will love to try it!
22 September 2012, 04:58
Rule of threes for me and I’m finiding that I have started to use doodling a lot more. Thnak you for another great prize.
22 September 2012, 05:01
I tend to go through phases when it comes to techniques depending on what’s on trend at that moment, but the one that has been consistent throughout my scrapbooking life is matting and layering. Thanks for the chance to win, the class looks great.
22 September 2012, 05:08
On most of my layouts you will see that I have used letter stickers for my titles. Looks a fab class!
22 September 2012, 05:24
This looks really interesting. I’m at one of those stages when I could really do with some inspiration on adding some oomph to my pages!
22 September 2012, 06:10
the class looks awesome, if i could afford it at the mo I’d be in! I would say my favourite technique on a page at the moment would be layering, alwys trying to add more things to a normal boring page x
22 September 2012, 06:13
Love your giveaways, Shimelle – they’re always for such wonderful things. Thank you so much for the chance to win this (wonderful) class too!
22 September 2012, 06:30
I always use a plain background and then layer patterned paper in layers on top. I have only started scrapbooking recently and havent really got a style yet, i could use some more inspiration. Thanks Shimelle
22 September 2012, 06:34
Another great giveaway! Not really a technique but my pages are always very linear – maybe too much so? Sometimes I try to put things at different angles and feel I am being very aventurous! Need to branch out a bit.
22 September 2012, 06:47
This class sounds really great; thank you so much for a chance to win! The technique I typically use is stamping on my layouts. I love putting my stamps to use on more than just cards.
22 September 2012, 06:52
This class looks amazing. Lately I have been trying to use my stamps more in my layouts. Thanks for a chance to win!
22 September 2012, 06:53
I am a less is more scrapper but this class would definitely help me with the finishing touches to step up my pages.
22 September 2012, 07:14
Thanks for the chance. I’ve been scrapping for years and it’s time to “step it up”!
22 September 2012, 07:16
Hmmm…I’ve been stitching a lot lately since watching your video on that, but using lots and lots of patterned paper will always be my go to technic.
22 September 2012, 07:27
This looks like a fun class. My most technique is probably faux stitching, sometimes I do real sewing on a layout but this is much quicker!
22 September 2012, 07:36
Lately, I have been working on my layering skills. It doesn’t come easily for me! Thanks for the chance to win.
22 September 2012, 07:40
I suppose inking edging with distress ink is my standard go to. would love to step up my scrapping- it needs it!
22 September 2012, 08:02
I am always inking the edges of pictures for layouts because I don’t like to see the white edge of the picture.
22 September 2012, 08:09
Something I do on almost every layout is stamping. It’s my favorite technique for sure!
22 September 2012, 08:12
I recently love to sprinkle some paints droplets across my pages and use lotsa washi tape :) Thanks for the chance! Loving all the twopeas workshop so far!
22 September 2012, 08:18
This looks like an awesome class to win. I would love to. Thanks for the chance.
22 September 2012, 08:27
One day I will be lucky.
Maybe this is my time?? xx
22 September 2012, 08:33

I would love to be in this class! thanks for the chance to win.
22 September 2012, 08:44
I would really love to win this class. I’m just getting back into making layouts after a year of focusing on learning card making. I need some new ideas. I’m not even sure I have a technique anymore. Help!
22 September 2012, 08:46
This sounds like a really great class, one I could definitely use! The technique I seem to find myself using a lot on my layouts is putting things in grids. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in this great class Shimelle :)
22 September 2012, 08:51
Let’s see… technique I keep using? Cutting paper into strips rather than using large sections. Is that a technique?
22 September 2012, 09:28
I don’t think I ever make a page without layering pretty patterned paper! I’m using punches, especially the scallop circle and butterfly!
22 September 2012, 09:28
I layer. I do it all the time. I love the look of many layers. I also like to add lots of little details…the thing that gets over looked the most but the thing I feel pulls every one of my layouts together.
22 September 2012, 10:00
I would have to say inking the edges of all my paper layers is what I seem to be doing on most layouts. Thanks for a chance to win!
22 September 2012, 10:19
Lately my favorite technique is using borders and making small clusters! Thanks for the chance!
22 September 2012, 10:42
I think this class will be great with Lynn, thanks for the giveaway!
22 September 2012, 10:48
I am just learning my go-to style, and it appears to be grids. Every time I don’t think too much about a page it ends up neatly lined up in some fashion. Thanks for the chance to win this fabulous class!
22 September 2012, 10:48
i’m loving using my digital cutter
22 September 2012, 10:51

22 September 2012, 10:55
I don’t currently have a favourite technique because I keep trying new ones to see what I like. Thanks for another great giveaway.
22 September 2012, 11:05
Congrats, lucky winners! :)
This class looks awesome, thanks so much for the chance to win. I think my ‘go to’ technique is clustering a few layers of pp and embellishments with a single photo and leaving lots of white space – if I’m completely stuck I know this look will nearly always work for me. (Is that a technique?! It’s all I can think of, hope it’ll do!!)
22 September 2012, 11:23
ooh what a fabby prize, I think it doesn’t really count as a technique but I always go to sketches when scrapbooking as they always kick start my mojo
22 September 2012, 11:34
I’m trying to layer more and use embellishments of different heights. Great giveaway! Thanks!
22 September 2012, 11:37

23 September 2012, 07:13
My pages aren’t ‘techniquy’ unless I’m trying out something new (usually something I’ve seen Shim or Glitter Girl do) but I do tend to ink my layers on most LOs
23 September 2012, 09:08
great giveaway to win, would be great to tey something like this. My pages are mostly with lots of colors and as glitt
23 September 2012, 09:16
This sounds EXACTLY what I need – I have so many pages that are somehow ‘not quite done’ and need some inspiration of how to complete them! x
23 September 2012, 13:12

23 September 2012, 21:54
Well it seems to me that the thing I have been doing a lot of lately is cutting up my pattern papers ala the Perfect Collection. Finds it works great with my studio calico kits and gets me using them. Now if I could just finish the journaling.
23 September 2012, 22:34
I’m working on a mini album using the SS summer collection. I’d love to win a spot in this class. Thanks for a chance. 2 peas name: Miss Kathy

This class looks great – thanks for the chance to win. My favorite technique is inking the edges of my paper.
23 September 2012, 23:23
I’ve only been scrapping since this July, so I don’t really have any “tried and true” techniques I lean back on time and time again per se. But I have tried a few things thus far. One of my newest finds are washi tapes, and I must say I’ve fallen in love with their forgiving nature and versatility.
24 September 2012, 00:34
I love to stitch on most of my pages
24 September 2012, 02:59
I really need tips for journalling and using embellishments. Thanks for the chance :)
24 September 2012, 08:59

24 September 2012, 10:03
I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years now and I am always looking for new ways to do things so that my pages don’t get stuck in a rut! This looks like a great class! Thanks for the opportunity to win! :0)
24 September 2012, 10:04
Most recently the technique Ive been using recently must be called Shimelle lifting! I´m trying learn how to group my embellishments and layer patterned paper by watching Glitter Girl videos and taking a lot of Shimelle´s classes :)
24 September 2012, 10:11
More than anything else, I’m simply a colorer/fussy-cutter/pop-dotter.
24 September 2012, 13:28
Hello, I have been stamping and embossing more lately and would love to take this class to stop the scrapbook block :)
24 September 2012, 14:29
I find myself layering more. Love it!
24 September 2012, 16:53
I love to layer pictures. I use a lot on each page, even cutting them up to get just what I need. I even use punches on parts of unused photos, like leaves for a Fall picture. Thanks for the opportunity.

I’m learning to layer more and I love the look! Thanks for the giveaway!!

26 September 2012, 13:04
I would love to win entry into this class! It looks awesome. I am really trying to expand my scrapping to include more embellishment clusters and layers. My pages tend to be more simple and I am wanting to get out of my box!
26 September 2012, 14:35
The technique I go back to again and again is always a solid cardstock background. I always go to this when feeling uninspired because its so easy towork off a blank slate instead of a patterned one! I use this technique alot.
26 September 2012, 21:53
THis looks like a great class. I would love to have that last little touch to a layout! 2peas: iggyboo32
27 September 2012, 03:46
