Giveaway day!

scrapbooking giveaway day
Prize Description
This weekend, one commenter will win a selection of fabric fat quarters, some cute labels and a gorgeous ‘button it’ wrist band pin cushion from Owl and Sewing Cat.

Owl and Sewing Cat is a pretty sewing shop situated in the seaside town of Eastbourne, East Sussex. The shop carries a range of contemporary ‘easy sew’ (and ultra-cute!) fabrics including designers such as Amy Butler, Michael Miller and Tanya Wheylan. Owner Tracey was excited to share her goals for the shop with us:

Hot on the heels of the latest trend of ‘make do and mend’ and the revival of the sewing machine, Owl and Sewing Cat is pleased to have opened its retail shop and the online shop is useful if you can’t get to Eastbourne!

Owl and Sewing Cat is also on a mission to get as many people as possible sewing, and is running sewing lessons for those wanting to learn, with simple kits available to have you making stunning bunting, bags and cushions in no time. It’s a great way to spend some time with family, friends or simply take some time for yourself.

You can read more about the shop on their blog or stay up to date via their facebook page.

To enter, just leave a comment on this post describing what you would make if you had a whole day to sit and sew.

Entries close at midnight Sunday UK time and the winner will be posted Monday evening, so be sure to check back to see if it’s your lucky day!

Good luck!

A whole day? Good Lord, I’d sleep and eat cake. Have a bath even. But then I am heavily pregnant with an 18 month old so of course that would be my first response. If I must be pushed to answer in terms of sewing, however, I would really really really like to sew Xmas dresses for my daughter and her little sister who’s due 7th Dec. I haven’t found the time, and I feel slightly guilty. Just too much to do in such little time. I’m sure they won’t mind. :/

  26. Katherine Says:

A whol day to sit & sew…wow… what luxury. Choices, choices. I might make some new curtains for our bedroom or some Build a bear clothes for my daughter. Or both if I really had all day!

Love those fabrics, hope I win!

  35. Jenny Alvers Says:

With these beautiful fabric choices I could make just about anything. I think I would be tempted to make my granddaughters little sundresses with them, and hope there were enough scraps left over to make some ruffles to put on some bags (kind of Donna Downey style)!
My sweet hubby got me a sewing machine for my birthday this summer, and the fabric store imediately burned down! So, sadly I have no place to buy any lovely fabrics!
These beauties give me the sewing buge even more! I would also use some on scrapbook pages as pockets & tags.

  75. Louise D Says:

Oooo! Well it took me most of a day to make a skirt! But in a dream world, I could start the day using a simple shower cap, stitched up in minutes! Then dressed in my newly made skirt I’d sit down to breakfast with a place mat and napkin on my beautiful tablecloth, all made by me! Wearing my frilly reversable apron I’d use the peg bag I made to quickly hang the washing, then removing the beautiful sewing machine cover from my trusty machine I’d whizz up a string of celebration bunting and a door organiser for all my patterns, freeing up my lovely gathered front bag for other things. Perhaps, if there is time in the afternoon some new curtains and after such a hectic but productive day I’d snuggle up on the settee with my pretty cushions and patchwork quilt and sew the button eye on my new nephews elephant softee.
Of course, all those wonderful creations are mostly still a dream, but who knows? Maybe I’ll win and start a little ‘making project’ to make the dream come true! :)
