scrapbook page detail
Good morning, early birds! And hello to the night owls in other parts of the world! I have another giveaway this morning that requires a little thought from you. Think you can think straight enough to answer?

If you had to pick one post, one series or just one type of thing here at shimelle.com that you like the most, what would it be? Yep… I’ve got you doing a little bit of research, I’m afraid. I’d really like to know what stuff you love so I can include more of that! And I have a prize pack of scrapbooking supplies to give to one randomly chosen comment.

TO ENTER leave a comment on this post with your answer. You can link to a specific post or just mention something in general (sketches, layouts, photo stuff, etc). This is a Sunday only giveaway and it ends tonight (14th August 2011) at midnight UK time. The winner will be posted on Monday!

And don’t forget… participate all weekend long, share your work and comment for the chance to win a $100 shopping spree at Two Peas in a Bucket OR use code SHIPSL for free US shipping on a $35 order (non-digital, non-phase out product) this weekend only!

I love the sketches! They are such an inspiration for me to get scrappy! Love when there are videos posted so I can pause an create right along with you!

  2. Mandy Says:

Jeez it’s early, I’m about to make a start on the last couple of challenges I left from last night, have a shoot at 4pm so hoping to get lots done before then! Ok, favourite thing is without a doubt 4×6 photo love, I never got photos printed smaller than 7×5 till recently because I thought 6×4 was too small but now I get 100 free 6×4’s a month so it’s rude to waste them, your 4×6 series gives me so many ideas that long may it continue, 6×4=versatile :)

  3. Nina Douglas Says:

I like the photo inspiration. I don’t have kids either and love to see someone taking great pictures of other adults and the things around her.

  4. Christine Says:

Come in now… It’s gotta be JYC! I’m back fie it every year! :)

  5. Nala_verstrickt Says:

Hey Shimelle, that is a difficult question. Just one thing? Your whole Page is realy great!
I like the 4×6 Photo Love serie the most :) I takes a lot of pressure of me, just print and scrap. I hope you will do more of that next year!
    Have a nice sunday!

  6. Vinnie Says:

I chanced upon your blog a year ago and loved how your blog is so reader friendly with lotsa updates + photos and occasionally you have tutorials and stuff for us :) BUT, it was really THIS entry (http://www.shimelle.com/cupcakes/334/letters/) that got me laughing so hard I decided I had to follow you ;) What a wise decision it was huh hehe

  7. Trisha H Says:

I love your viideos! You have the most soothing voice and such a kind manner about you! Plus, I always learn something.

  8. Joanne Says:

I really like your scrapbooking videos and would love to see more of them :)

  9. Kimberly K. Says:

Love, love your videos. Would like more of them.

  10. RellyAB Says:

I enjoy your posts about things you’ve done and then seeing how you scrap them, 10 things and the cupcakes. Oh, cupcakes!

  11. Linda trace Says:

Goodmorning lovely!! I’d have to say I find your videos my number 1 on the inspiration list but sketches come a close second. Oh and I LOVE your make-your-own type vids/tutorials (embellishments etc)

  12. Danz Says:

    http://www.shimelle.com/paper/1077/scrapbook-talk-organising-the-early-years-in-an-album/
This is one of my all time favourites! I don’t scrapbook in chronological order, but I have my albums chronologically sorted. So I love to read your post when you talk about how you sort your layouts. I also love your QandA’s about layout/album organisation. This probably isn’t the most helpful love, as far as showing you what I want to see more of, because I don’t think it’s a topic you could write about every week. But I love those posts and refer back to them a lot! :)

  13. Shannon H. Says:

I love your scrapbooking style, so I love seeing your layouts. I really like sketch of the week and try to do it when I can. When I am stuck, I look through past sketches. Your crops are always the BEST. I get more pages done during your crops then any other time of year. I also really enjoyed reading about your travels. You have been to so many amazing places. I can’t wait to see more pictures.

  14. Daphne Says:

Good Morning everybody! I really enjoy your videos, Shimelle! So seeing more of them would be fantastic, but I know, they are lots of work sometimes (and sometimes it’s not easy uploading them). But you calm me down and let me focus on a single item, single layout, single topic. Much easier for me than just reading about it! :)

  15. Emy Says:

I love the challenges – online crops, sketches, and I like the colour challenge.

  16. Margaret Anne Clark Says:

I really like the balance of articles you have here – i wouldn’t change it ! If there’s an area I would like to expand in my scrappin’ world, it’s mini albums. Looking forward to Learning Something New !

  17. Diane Says:

Having recently ordered close to 2000 4×6 photos, I’m particularly fond of the 4×6 love series. Generally it’s always a great boost for my mojo when I see your sketches and the videos are very cute! I’m fascinated to see you “at work” and it has inspired me to try and let go and not think so much about what I put where and how, etc.

  18. julie Wan Says:

for me its the sketches, great when i need inspiration thank you

  19. Jeannie Says:

I love the videos and the 4×6 love and weekly sketch challenges that go with them. So nice to have you come teach me in my home!!!

  20. Penny Says:

I love the videos and always feel inspired to scrap after watching one. You have such a lot on your blog that there is always something to spur us on so just keep up the fantastic work. Thanks

  21. Rachel Says:

At the moment I’m loving the 4×6 you’re doing for 2 peas. But then I also love love love journal your christmas and the weekly sketches. Keep up the good work.

  22. wannabe rebel Says:

The one thing I like is the BALANCE, there is never too much of anything and nothing is lacking.

  23. Rinda Says:

Just one? My current favorite is the 4×6 photo sketch series, especially thebones with lots of photos.
    Rinda

  24. Katie Says:

Good morning Shimelle :) I love the posts about classes you have coming up and also freebies when you have them :)

  25. Sarah Says:

Such a tricky thing to ask. There is so much good in your blog, it is one that I actually remember to check….it is easy to read and easy on the eye. I have enjoyed the photograph tutorials. I cannot choose one thing as that would be an injustice!! I have enjoyed the 4×6 classes this year and also JYC…..amongst other things that have popped up on your blog….this weekend being another :) Thanks for all the inspiration Shimelle.

  26. Liz Says:

There are a lot of awesome things- for me I love the classes, the sketches, and the whole attitude of the site (scrapbooking is awesome and there are no limitations on who you can be to be a scrapbooker) so please keep doing all of them. My absolute favourite stuff though is your classes, particularly the writing/thinking-focused ones- JYC, Write It Down, True Stories, Explore- I love getting an email every day for the length of the class, and I love how you talk about language and writing- I haven’t found that stuff anywhere else.

  27. Azimuth Says:

I love seeing your layouts as the photos are always centre stage.

  28. Sam Says:

Morning, Shimelle! I love so much about your blog, but my current favourite has got to be your sketch of the week videos. I suffer from “Is it right?” panic, so watching you scrap gives me confidence to stick it down :-)

  29. Judith Says:

I’ve loved all your journal classes but my fave at the moment is the 6 × 4 photo love.

  30. Wendy Miller Says:

I really like that whenever you suggest a project you always encourage us to use what we have as opposed to buying something new, I have never been so inspired to use up my old stash!

  31. Kerry Says:

I like the videos. I find visual learning helps things ‘stick’ in my mind better.

  32. Lisa-Jane Johnson Says:

Good morning! Absolutely and without the question the 4×6 photo love (and any sketches of the week that include 4×6 photos). I love watching your videos or how you put things together and seeing the variety of layouts that come from one sketch.

  33. HilaryJ Says:

I love the long, long post answering all the questions you received about your recent trip. I learned so much in it.

  34. anneberit Says:

I didn’t even have to think so hard, I know what I love :) And what I love the most is how often you include videos and how much I learn from them. Keep doing that, please. Thank you :D

  35. Tracy G Says:

I love your video tutorials! They always fill me with inspiration – more please! :)

  36. Ellie Says:

First off thank you so much for putting these 3 days of awesome fun together. Now that you’ve put us in hard spot picking just one thing we love I must say add me as well to loving the sketch challenges for me they really challenge me to want to think out the box and I learn something new. Thk u again for sharing all that you do and making me love scrapbooking a little more with each visit!

  37. emma clark Says:

no thought required…definitely the sketches…. they get me thinking everytime.thanks for the inspiration xxxx

  38. Mel Says:

That’s soooo hard because I love the whole way you put how you see life right here on this blog. But if I had to pick just one I’d say the videos. There is something magical about watching another person create right before your very eyes. And Thanks for all this inspiration this weekend. I made three LO’s yesterday and that’s a record!

  39. Ruth Says:

Hi shimelle, I just finished my “I heart” challenge, thanks for this fun weekend! My favorite thing at shimelle.xom are the sketches and associated videos. Both the weekly and 4×6love ones. You are so very adorable and you are so adept at making sketches that make me want to rush off to start scrapping them. Thank you!

  40. Jane Says:

I pretty much love it all but I guess if I had to pick one thing I’d say that I really do enjoy seeing how your mind works! I think that is probably illustrated clearest in how you put your layouts together – so the video’s win for me, followed closely by the sketches because it is a quick little way to get a burst of creative energy. But honestly there is nothing on here I don’t like!!

  41. Alison Says:

Goodmorning Shimelle – great crop – thankyou although I look like a wreck today so there’ll be no photos of me when we go out tonight -as I was playing here until 4:00am!!!

I love your classes, especially when I get my prompts in my inbox!

But I also love the other stuff you do, so when Im lacking inspiration or fancy watching a video its always here I come, or the other places you hang out!

I love the style of your blog and the passion for scrapbooking that you so generously share with everybody!

One thing – your passion – but everything really!!!! Just keep doing what you do – we love it!!!!

  42. Jacky S Says:

Just one?? Impossible!! I’ve really been enjoying your ’5 things’ series….but there’s actually so much I love.

  43. Gabriele Says:

Oh my, what a difficult question. I`ve been trying to sort that out for aprox. 45 minutes now. The difficulty for me is: 99% of your articles are inspiration! If you write about the CHA – if you talk about your life with the boy – if you show the sketches – your videos – the 10things – blogging about photography. You see: difficult to give a proper reply on that! I personally love to read the small, everyday, tiny tipps and tricks about scrapbooking – the cases where you talk about these little things that give this last detail to round everything up. It does not have to be a “heavy topic” resp. a big article on one topic. I enjoy those little tips. And I really learnt from your writing tips! Everyone has to find his own style and will do that. But your hints help so much in times where you just sit at your desk and ideas don`t want to flood your brain ;)
Lust but not least: my very favourite topic is… colours, colour-combos, the feeling a colour can transmit to the viewer. So for me it is a great idea to write more of your colour stories!
Thanks for all the inspiration I found here in the past and will find in future :)

    Take care,
    Gabriele

  44. Fay Says:

Morning all, really enjoying this crop, have got loads of inspiration.

I really like the ’10 things’ series and partipcate in that on my own blog.

Any further ideas for stuff we can do on our own blogs would be great.

  45. ninarsku Says:

I love your sketches and especially the videos! Hope you can make up with the sketch of the week so we will see more of your videos soon. :)

  46. Summer201 Says:

I love the video, always give me inspiration!!! xxx

  47. Heather Says:

I love your photos [and photo tips!] classes & layout style but my favourite thing right now are the weekly sketches. Love the videos that accompany them as I’m such an indecisive ditherer, I love seeing how your put your layout together & picking up little extra tips along the way :)

  48. Bethan Says:

I Love the sketchs as they give you a good starting point to a project. The past classes are also great as you have old classes to hand to dip into and new classes when your scrapping needa boost or you change direction with your scrapping.

  49. Be(e) Says:

Hi Shimelle, i love coming to your blog for the weekly sketches and the 4×6 photo love posts for 2Peas. I love watching videos about scrapbooking!! Thanks for doing all this!

  50. Sabine SR Says:

Hi Shimelle, this question is not that easy to answer, because I like various things. First I LOVE your sketches. Together with your great videos they are my all-time-favourites. Your videos and your way to explain why you did something really help me to improve my scrapbooking. I love the way you combine patterns and colors. I never dared to do something close to that and now, after reading and watching your blog I start to play and USE color. Thank you so much. I makes me happy.

  51. Gemma* Says:

I love the travel posts, photo tips and cupcakes :)

  52. Emma Says:

I love to watch your videos, and I print off your Weekly Sketch every week as I think they are fabulous too.

Specific posts I have loved though recently were the one where you showed us how you organised your album (I love seeing how other crafters organise the things they make, and also their craft spaces.. would love to see your craft room!) and also the post where you detailed how you packed for your big trip earlier this year. Scrapbooking and exploring are two of my favourite things, so I love your travel posts :)

  53. Sanna Says:

I like the photo tips, sketches and aqua/red/white post as well as product posts. BUT the combination makes it – wouldn´t want to miss out on the other posts eather, I´m afraid.

  54. gemma Says:

Its hard to pinpoint just one thing as I pretty much get inspiration from any post but I love your sketches and videos most i think although I really love 6×4 photo love too! Too hard to decide really!

  55. rockchickhelen Says:

I love the videos showing how you scrapbook, they’re my favourite. I also like 4 × 6 photo love and anything about organisation. Would also be interested to know how you choose what supplies to buy, do you buy just what you love, or do you choose co-ordinating stuff? If i have too much choice, i get lost and overwhelmed, because I love so much of the products available and would buy it all if i could, i think i’m better with kits :D

  56. Caroline B Says:

wow just one thing I love about your site? The sketches, the online crops & your classes are amazing!

  57. BeeH Says:

I read your blog daily, but when I come back to search for specific hints and tips a lot of the time it’s the posts on everyday photography, simple re-touching tools and the best ways to use photographs in a different way on layouts that interest me.

  58. Steffi Says:

Good morning everyone! Its a really difficult question. I like your weekly sketches. They inspire me. But I also love your photos. You give me ideas how to photograph things in a different way. Your whole blog ist so great!
    Steffi

  59. Julia Says:

Oh this is a tricky one…especially on a Sunday morning! I have to say I love watching your videos. It’s lovely to see how you create a page and the techniques you use. Am I allowed another? I have bookmarked this post here (http://www.shimelle.com/paper/751/travel-photography-tips-for-scrapbookers/) As an avid photographer I found this a great insight and it has definitely helped me look for different things to photo while I’m out and about. Thanks for a great blog – keep up the brilliant posts!

  60. Zahra Says:

Just one thing?! Can I generalise a bit?! Your challenges – whether your sketches or 4×6 – because you always produce examples and those, combined with the sketch/layout inspire me to scrap (even this weekend, the challenges – love them!)

  61. helen Says:

Well I love the vids – they feel like a little treat for me to watch when I get some me time! I also really liked your take on organising albums and your views on how and why you scrapbook – I feel these affirm/encourage me to carry on and to try new things – love your blog x

  62. Alison Says:

Ummm … this was a really hard one and I’ve been thinking about this for a good couple of hours now and I have to say one of my favourites was “Scrap your Day”. I love mini books.

  63. Scrapnanny Says:

For me it has always been the sketches and how to use them, now the video’s are pushing their way in front.{I love them} I love the way you encourage us to use up stash but loved the kits you put together now and then.

  64. sam Says:

mornig, up to tackle some more challenges hope to get more done than yesterdays 2, my favorite is the sketches as when in a hole they always give me inspiration and a kick start, but find the whole site really inspirational keep it coming and lots more : )

  65. Jennie Says:

Hi Shimelle, I’m always gushing because you and your site are fab. I love the blog the way it is, enough posts to be interesting and of a very high quality. I love the videos and save them for best! I am always impressed at how you manage upside down :)
The classes are brilliant, I can’t pick a favourite, they complement each other perfectly, I am looking forward to LSNED immensely.
If I could think of something that would improve Shimelle.com it for me it would be a save the date button, with maybe a teaser? I would have so loved to join in this weekend and if I had more notice I definitely would have arranged more time off! After your proud to be a scrapbooker prompt I might even have been brave enough to tell the boss why!! :)
Keep up the great work please!

  66. carol finlay Says:

    Buenas Dias,
Where do I start, love your blog so inspirational, love the challenges and videos, like all those funny words you come up with.
Im having such a fab weekend, muchas gracias.

  67. kate bucci Says:

Morning everyone, I do love this site :) I think you have a great mix and that’s what keeps it interesting – layouts, sketches, tutorials, photography, other inspiration like your CHA articles. I’ve been reading your blog for years and can remember when you didn’t update as much, and I would keep coming back and checking (before I got a feed reader) because your posts were always so sweet and charming – and they still are! In terms of scrapbooking, I’ve done nearly all your classes and I love them, but the sketch of the week is my favourite. It’s so quick, and I know if I am only going to manage one page in a week then your sketch will sort me out. K x

  68. Chipper Says:

Good morning (unless you are in Australia like me and your day is actually coming to an end!) This was a tough one as I really love almost everything about this site. However if I had to pick JUST ONE post it would be your comments on album organisation. This is one thing I have mulled over for ages and I wanted to have my layouts organised chronologically but everyone around me said that I couldn’t do it that way as “you can’t put old layouts with new and have them look nice”. After reading your whole post through three times, I felt free to do things the way I WANTED! It was strangely liberating (as much as a scrapbooking organisational post can be of course!).

If I could list more it would be your 6×4 photo love series and the fun way you share snippets of yourself. When I am feeling down I hop on here and find myself smiling before I even realise it. Thank you :-)

  69. Rebecca Says:

There are so many things I love on your site! My very favorite are any videos you do. You speak from the heart, and I totally feel what you are saying. The one you did recently for Ali’s blog is one of my favorites. The video introduction for True Stories I watched several times! It really moved me.

I am also just a huge fan of seeing your pages!! You inspire me so very much! And I LEARN from you. They say that you just connect with some teachers more than others, and let me tell you – I connect with you! So, thank you!

  70. Eva Says:

Shimelle, thanks for the fun crop!
I always enjoy your 10 things, as well as your sketches!
Oh, and the cupcakes, of course grin

  71. rach - purplecrafter Says:

there is so much to love about you blog. My current favourites are 4×6 Photo Love, the Sketch of the week with a video to help do the layout and the interactive things like 10 things. Thanks for the inspiration

  72. Stephanie Says:

My favorites are your videos; I have never been one to use very many embellishments, and seeing you go through your process has really taught me a great deal. Thank you!

  73. Debbie Says:

Creatively the inspiration and practically the sketches! They are helping me get pages done! Thanks!

  74. Cathy G Says:

I like the classes that are annual, specifically jyc as like seeing the memories build up over the years, and seeing how my style has changed.

  75. Brenda O'Reilly Says:

Morning, thanks for all this inspiration. I am already on my second LO, will post all a bit later. I must say I love your sketch challenges.

  76. tape Says:

The classes! If I had to pick just one, maybe JYC because I’ve done it twice and it’s just so awesome!

  77. carrie Says:

I love so much about your blog.. I find the sketches and 4×6 photo love so inspirational and I have a list of your cupcake recipes that I am working my way through but my all time favourite thing is JYC! I found your blog just In time to sign up for it last year and had a wonderful time making an album to record all the little things about my daughters first Christmas.. thank you Si much – keep up the great work!

  78. Mandy McK Says:

I really enjoy the videos and learn a great deal. They seem to give me confidence in my own scrapping because you share the process of the decisions you’re making and when you change your mind and don’t use an embellie or pp I seem to really ‘get it’. It’s like being in the room with a friend. I do click through the LOs that other folks have made for the sketches and have enjoyed the weekly sketch and the 6 × 4 series on 2peas. Your site is very inspiring and educational aswell as enjoyable to read. Personally I’d love to see a video series focussing on design. I’ve read books/articles about it but a video series with your thinking aloud and personal style would be fab. Just a thought :)
    Mandy McK

  79. Claire Says:

I have only been following you for a short time and so far love the blog. I have even hopped onto the laptop and off the iPad so I can view your videos. Unheard of! I have also really enjoyed your CHA posts.

  80. Arianne Says:

I totally love your blog, wouldn’t change a thing. Well, maybe just more 4×6 pages and more sketches. That’s all! ;0)

  81. Kirsty Riach Says:

I love Journal Your Christmas…it’s just that extra something you need at that time of year to keep you calm andkeep everything in perspective!

  82. Jen M Says:

I love all of your suggestions for journalling and story-telling. My early pages rarely had more than titles or dates, but reading your blog and looking at your gorgeous pages gave me the confidence to have a go at recording more of the stories behind the photos. Thank you!!!

  83. Cindy Strickland Says:

I learned the most from your digital tutorials. I am still getting started in digital so they have been really helpful. Your videos showing your process from beginning to end are also good for me. I seem to struggle sometimes with that awkward stage when developing a layout and you can let me see how you push through to beautiful well composed pages.

  84. Hester Says:

I am looking forward to journal your christmas, I looked into it this year and was amazed by the pretty albums i see, so i promised myself to go for it this year!

  85. linda321 Says:

I love the sketches and ideas for 4 × 6 photos,(as that’s the size I usually print), also the videos on how to do the page:)

  86. Natalie Elphinstone Says:

I’ve really enjoyed your “5 ways to use….” posts. I like the idea that you just take one product or one idea and then interpret it 5 different ways. Really gets the creative mind ticking over, and helps me get the most out of my stash. I also adore your sketch challenges this last year. Anything that makes me want to get out my scrap supplies and use them!!

  87. Kate Says:

    Hello :)
I loved your post about smash books….I mean its just a book but peoples opinions on it were pretty varied, loved reading all the thoughts and comments.
Also sketches are cool…finding time to do them would be cooler lol.
    Kate x

  88. lynn Says:

I think of all the things on your blog and there are so many!, I have enjoyed the work on using colour. Especially your ‘a month of colour’ challenges and information. I find everything very informative and love your writing style.

  89. steffigo Says:

    Hi Shimelle,

I love 2-page LO and a lot of 4×6 photos.

    Yours steffigo

  90. Donna Says:

I love your enthusiasm for scrapbooking and the way you constantly find new ways to inspire us. I drift in and out of scrapbooking, dabbling in other crafts along the way but whenever I need a kickstart (like this weekend) I know I’ll find it here!

  91. shire Says:

Shimelle, I am a big big big fan of your videos!! :)

  92. jane Says:

I love your weekly sketches with the video, they’ve got me scrapping again!

  93. Lydia Says:

I love your scrapbooking videos. You are just too cute and I really ejoy the videos!

  94. Michelle OKeefe Says:

    Hi Shimelle,
My favorite thing is anything where you post a video to go with it so I can watch you create a layout. So therefore, my favorite thing is the Sketch of the week with a video.
Thanks for doing this fun weekend !
    Michelle

  95. liz Says:

I probably need to say a bit more than “everything” so I would plump for the sketches and other challenges first of all. It was jyc that got me into Shimelle courses but I havent repeated the album because ao many of the pages would be repeats. This year Id love to see some suggestions how. To take a different approach to the first album I did.

  96. Heather T. Says:

I have heard such great things about Journal your Christmas!

  97. Cynthia Says:

Wellll, I was going to say the cupcake recipes, heh heh, but the post that really got me started following your blog was your How to Travel Light post from May of this year. http://www.shimelle.com/paper/1032/how-to-travel-light/

  98. Sarah S Says:

How do you choose just one? I’m gonna cheat and go for 2 – LSNED and your sketches. Both amazing in their own right, but then everything is on here. I love your fresh approach to things too. Heck, that’s 3 things, oh well, 3’s gotta be better than 2 right? Yep, thought so :D xx

  99. Kitty Scrapper Says:

I am loving the new videos you are putting up as to how you construct pages, it nice to see someones process rather than just the final article. Thanks

  100. Maria Says:

Really enjoyed LSNED and JYC. Also really like 4×6 love and the videos.

  101. Madeline Says:

That is easy for me, I love sketch series of posts, seems like that is the only time I can do a LO, with one of your new Sketches.

  102. Susan Says:

EVERYTHING sketches, the 6×4, classes and most of all the videos

  103. Jimjams Says:

Lots of inspiration here – plenty to enjoy, but I think the MIX is what I like best – photography tips (and packing too), sketches, classes, some digi stuff – so it’s difficult to single out one thing!
In the end it probably has to be your occasional CC weekends – LOTS of inspiration and good company in one place!

  104. LucyF Says:

For me, it’s been the tales of your travels round the world, particularly the post about what you took – totally eyeopening!!

  105. Juschka Says:

I love especially your project 4×6 photo love, your sketches and videos! They give me so much inspiration! xoxo

  106. ruth Says:

sketches and also projects – I loved the one which involved taking photos on one day a month. I have a precious mini book that I look at often which has those photos in.

  107. Jo Says:

Ooops, I forgot to say I would love to be able to access all the sketes from your series in one place perhaps from a button on the lfet like you have for photography tip and recipes. Thanks

  108. Kathy Says:

A ‘bingo’ post for me was the one where you explained your favourite layout was to use 2, 4X6 photos. I am now following your 4 × 6 phto love, and loving it.

  109. Karen C Says:

I love it all. Your blog is my favourite scrapbooking place but my most favourite is your classes. I love that they are archived and you can just keep going back to them and I love that there is so much inspiration to be had from all the other participants. keep doing what you do and we will continue to love it.

  110. Beth Ann Says:

I love your sketches – especially when you have a video to go along! You inspire me to scrap!

  111. Christina T Says:

It was really difficult to narrow it down to just one thing, but I’m going to have to go with your 4×6 photo love posts. Most of my pages are using 4×6 photos lately, so I love seeing inspiration for that size. Thanks so much for the challenges and the chance to win!

  112. Dawn F. Says:

I’m not sure I could pick just one – JYC, videos, 4×6 inspiration, sketches the list continues. But I really enjoyed your Sunday posts of sewing projects. I love to see things repurposed. Thanks for all of work you do to post so regularly and give us all so much inspiration.

  113. Julie Says:

I love your videos, but I really love all that you do. Your photograpy, sketches, travel stories are all so inspiring. Thank you for all of your hard work.

  114. Angelfish Says:

At the risk of repeating what many others have said, I love the videos of you creating a LO. It’s very interesting to follow the process from start to finish.

  115. Ásdís Jónsdóttir Says:

I love your videos, 4×6 foto love and sketches the most

  116. Jean D Says:

Thr sketches are my favourite in terms of following along and doing it myself

  117. Angie Says:

This is my first online crop and it’s amazing – I’ve had so much fun so that’s definitely something I’d like to see more of! As others have already said you’ve got such a nice voice to listen to so I really like your videos too, and your blog is so inspirational. :)

  118. TracyW Says:

A favourite, my that is tricky because everything is wonderful! I am really loving the 4×6 photo love series though, really enjoyable and I look forward to each installment. The sketch series is great too esp. with the videos.

  119. Cheri Says:

I love the 4×6 Photo Love series. And JYC – which I have participated in three years running.

  120. LisaE Says:

I really love the sketch of the week. One thing that would make it even better is to have them in one place so you could upload your entry for week’s past and see others entries easily. Thanks for all these opportunities for goodies.

  121. Margie S Says:

I love 4×6 Photo Love. It is my favorite. And second is these weekends of challenges. I don’t get to participate as much as I would like but I still enjoy checking in and hoping I can (and do on occasion) and just pining for some scrapbook time so I could join in!

  122. ifa Says:

As a traveller myself, I love to read other travel story.

  123. Jenny McGee Says:

I love checking out the weekly sketches. I have not been following for a long time, so time will tell which I like. I love this online crop though. I plan on doing some of the challenges today. Thanks.

  124. Natalie Says:

I love the weekly sketches and the accompanying videos. I like to see how you have adapted a sketch and the thought process behind the colour choices and embellishments. But I also love 4×6 Photo Love – that has been a brilliant series so far and you’ve helped me make a good start on my own collection of 600 honeymoon photographs!

  125. Brenda B Says:

I love your sketches, the 4×6 photo love series, and your YouTube videos – and this weekend crop is awesome!

  126. Andrea M Says:

I would have to say that I check your blog on a daily basis to see if you have any new videos. So I really look forward to your 4×6 Photo love videos each month and your weekly sketches. I love your scrapbooking style and enjoy seeing how you create your layouts.

  127. jessica c Says:

For me it would have to be your sketches!

  128. Smeepee Says:

I love your project posts – anything I can use for inspiration when I’ve lost my mojo – so sketches or even just photos of layouts. :)

  129. Amanda Says:

Only found you this morning, but I am loving the variety of challenges that you are posting. I have only done sketch challenges before.

  130. Darla Says:

I enjoy the videos the most – the 4×6 series on your post. Am totally in love with the explore class – you are awesome!

  131. Jenny B Says:

I love the sketches, they give me a mid-week kickstart… I really enjoyed your post about organising your albums. But the one that had me thinking the most was the one about time management. http://www.shimelle.com/paper/590/making-time/?commented=1#c038139

But to be fair, I pretty much find all your site really inspirational.

  132. Juanna Says:

i love “make everyday a scrapbooking adventure” video. it was this video that brought me to your site and now i’m regularly coming back here. thanks for being an inspiration (:

  133. Gina Says:

    Simples, I love JYC!!!

  134. ConnieC Says:

I love anything that features a layout. All he rest is nice, but the layouts keep me commit back.

  135. marianne Says:

I am challenge inspired so I have to say that anytime you post a challenge, that would be something I would always be happy about. Your blog is awe-inducing the way it is, however. I love your travel stories and your videos and your wonderful scrapbook pages. Thanks for sharing your talent!

  136. Kirsteen Says:

My biggest shimelle.com love is the class ‘Something from Amost Nothing’. It was the first class I took and I was super happy with the pages I created while taking that class and with the lifelong lesson I learnt – ‘it’s OK to use your stash and lots of it’!! It’s the reason I bought it for after all :) I love your videos too, they are the best and always leave me feeling inspired and happy :)

  137. Jeanelle Says:

I have been playing along with the 4×6 layouts. Thanks for the continued inspiration!

  138. Heather B Says:

I have been taking your online class and have loved watching your videos! An so I have gone back through the website and watched more videos. So I would definitely say more videos!

  139. Ginny Says:

I love your Wed. sketch series—extra bonus when there is a video. Makes my Wednesday!

  140. kat Says:

ok, so, i totally love your scrapbooking inspiration….but i really love when you post cupcake recipes!!

  141. Jenny A Says:

I really love everything but if I had to choose, I think I would choose the 4×6 photo challenges. I have had so many “aha!” moments. Love the videos, the sketches and the different samples you show.

  142. Sabine Says:

I love your sketches but most of all your videos! I have so much fun watching them and I often scrap along, stopping the video from time to time. I ecpecially liked the one from “Explore” where you showed how you pick the colours and match the papers! It maybe sounds silly, but I always tend to stick with the paper collection I bought and don’t know how to mix the papers… so my goal for this week was to mix and match! I also found your comments on how to organize the albums very helpful. I look at your site almost everyday, because it’s such a great inspiration!

  143. Karen C. Says:

I love everything about your site, but, I really enjoy the 4×6 photo love, would love to see more scrapping with Hipstamatic prints and Journal Your Christmas is way cool too! :)

  144. Dogmatix Says:

This is a difficult one. I am loving the 6×4 series at the moment and really enjoy it when you put sketches up as I like working from sketches. I find the classes very good and like JYC and LSNED (roll on 1st) especially as it really helps me see how my creativity has improved through the year :)

  145. Jill Says:

Hey Shimelle! I’m a newbie to your blog, so this was a great question for me. I had so much fun searching through it! There is so much great stuff. I was already a big fan of 4×6 Love series. I also love your sketches, but to answer your question, it would have to be 10 Things. What a fun and cool item!! I really enjoyed looking at what both you and others had to say and show! I hope to play in the future!

  146. Laura Says:

I’m a relative newcomer to your blog (and with little time to think of scrapping this weekend, unfortunately, although I’m reading every post). So far, I’ve been most interested in your sketches and seeing how you and others use them.

  147. Jackie Pocock Says:

There is so much I love about site but I do really enjoy the video tutorials you do and I loved the ‘This is Why I Scrapbook’ video. You have a wonderful site, full of so much inspiration and I am really enjoying your 4×6 classes too.

  148. April W Says:

My favorite thing is definitely the sketches of the week, especially when there’s a video! I reallly love watching your creative process and how you pick out your papers and embellishments. :) – April W

  149. Nancylee Says:

Tough because I love all of it! What makes me read thru to the end on the spot are your tutorials and great ideas on photography. I have learned so much out of them and applied them whenever, wherever. I use my camera more than ever bec of your advice. And thanks to you for seeing the world differently thru those lenses.

  150. Adel Says:

I guess I am with the majority. I particularly enjoy the sketch of the week and 4×6 photo love videos. Over this summer I have caught up on viewing them. They have have really sparked using many several pattern papers. These pages have turned out well and I love them in my albums.
Thanks again Shimelle, for a weekend of ideas and challenges to last 3 months. It has been so much fun to check back often to the site and see often 2 new challenges have been posted. Yahoo!

  151. Sylvie H Says:

I love your any and all of your videos. I stalk your blog regularly for new videos and count the days until the monthly 4×6 Photo Love post. Watching you create always makes me want to get up and make something pretty.

  152. Dawn Says:

I love the videos especially the one you did for Ali Edwards. What you say and how you explain it is fabulous. Would love to see more!

  153. Sabbyscrap Says:

    Hi Shimelle,
Really? You want us to just ONE thing we like??? Damn, that’s a tough one… I guess, my absolute favorite is 4×6 Photo Love. It has helped me immensely. The video that goes with it is just perfect. It’s quick, easy, and always drastically different from the previous month, so there’s always something new round the corner! Thanks for everything and keep up the good work! Sab.

  154. monica Says:

You really are crule having us choose just one thing… But ok, I so much love you videos!! I love hearing you talk about scrapbooking, how you think aso.

  155. Sarah Webb Says:

I have just picked up on your videos and I love them! It’s always fun to watch someone else put something together! Thanks for the chance!

  156. kaatje Says:

really love the 4×6 challenge. Looking forward ro it each month. Thanks fot this giveaway

  157. Ladkyis Says:

Which one thing do I love about your blog? The sketches and the videos – oh that’s two things. Um, the way you talk with your writing so I can hear your real voice in my head when I read the words. To me that’s a sign of good writing and what you write is ALWAYS inspiring. There that’s one thing, I’ll stick with that.

  158. AndreaSue Says:

I love your videos and the sketches! You are so inspiring :)

  159. Julia M. Says:

I look forward to seeing your weekly sketch and video each week. Thanks for the weekly inspiration and the glimpse into your scrapbooking methods.

  160. Louise Pettman Says:

We have proper Shimelle love going on in this house so choosing one thing is just too difficult. I love the sketches. I ADORE the videos. And anytime you post a conversation about you+theboy+ scrapping I crack up. More of that please!!

  161. chel Says:

I love both the product reviews and the videos. I’m a product and took junkie, so bring it on!

  162. Wendy Goodman Says:

I love love love seeing all of the kraft cardstock layouts of your recent trip. More please!

  163. Poupee Says:

The layout sketches are inspirational. The photography ideas are cool. Your personality is unique. We heart all things Shimelle!

  164. Robin W. Says:

    Hi Shimelle,

I love your sketches the most! I find them so easy to adapt, and I’m able to use up my stash with them. I always think I’m going to post some of my takes on them, but I just never get around to that part :)
I also like your videos—really, it’s all good!!

  165. Gemma Says:

Your videos. I love all your sketches too but there is something so inspriring about watching someone else create. To actually see the processes you go through to get from a sketch to the finished page. They have helped me to become much more confident and adventurous. So thank you. :o)

  166. Steph Says:

I’m a fan of the sketch videos, keep ‘em coming!

  167. Iris Says:

I absolutely love your videos, sketches, and 4×6 photo love!!

  168. Susan R Says:

hmm…hard question! I love your video demo’s where you show how the page came together. Sometimes figuring out my flow takes the most time, so it helps to actually see how someone else does it and decides. I like when you try things and then put things away because it didn’t work cause it helps me to figure out how to best put things together for my own eye. Thanks for the chance to win!

  169. Mel Says:

Gosh, lady, how to choose?! I love reading about your travels, I always find those posts and photos interesting and inspiring. I love to feast my eyes on your layouts, they’re just so gorgeous! I lvoe the snippets of your everyday life with The Boy, whether they be full-blown posts such as the ever-popular ‘If The Boy Scrapbooked’ or a line or two in a post about something else mainly. I love your hints and tips about photography, as this is something I’m constantly trying to develop (no pun intended!) Perhaps most of all, I love your posts that announce a new class, because I get such a thrill from the expectation! xx

  170. Andrea MacDonald Says:

I really enjoy your sketch series. I love using sketches so I really look forward to seeing yours.

  171. Sarah Giles Says:

I just love seeing your layouts and being inspired by them. Thank you!

  172. Jennifer Says:

You always get me at sketches. And your samples as well as your listed favorites really make it awesome!

  173. Tam2 Says:

    One is just too hard!

First of all, I was drawn to your classes. I think you do a great job of teaching us new ways to explore our love of paper crafts!

Second, once I started reading your blog posts, I fell in love with your humor (must be a KS girl thing, lol). I think it’s also fun to see a US born girl’s view of another country, but not as a tourist, but as a resident!!

Keep up the great work Shimelle, we’re counting on you : )

  174. torrita Says:

I love it all – but if I had to pick one thing, it would be the photo tutorials. Maybe introduce photo challenges every month, like the weekly sketch (which I also LOVE!). Thanks for creating such a fun, helpful and inspiring scrapbooking space :)

  175. Rhoda Says:

It has to be the layouts! I love your style and want you to put all your layouts, tips and sketches in a book so I can have it all there all at once! Or a series of books! Plus you have a great, friendly conversational style of writing that very often makes me smile, laugh and wish I wrote like that! x

  176. KelliL Says:

Excluding your wonderful classes my favorite thing on your blog is the 4×6 sketches. Whether it is your weekly one or the one at 2peas I love them all.

  177. jacki l Says:

i love your scrapping style. i was always a bit up tight about colours having to match and neatness etc. you have inspired me to relax my style. so all i would say is…more of the same please!

  178. Brenda Weschke Says:

I love your videos and I would like to see more of the classes that send you daily or weekly prompts. I find it helps me to stay focused. I also would not mind something about new techniques. Have a great day!

  179. Miriam Prantner Says:

My favorite are the technique posts for traditional scrapbooking as well as posts that indicate your perspective/approach to scrapbooking. Helps me learn new things and consider different perspectives towards scrapping.

  180. nitasha Says:

One of my MANY favorite things here at Shimmelle’s is the September class ‘Learn Something New’! It is just amazing what can be learned when you really take the time to think about your surroundings each day! I really enjoy the class and can’t wait to take it again next month!

  181. Joanne Says:

I have been loving the 4×6 Photolove especially the videos and that they are backed up by PDFs that can be printed out. Also like the sketches and have loved this scrapbooking weekend – Thanks a lot

  182. Jeannine Garner Says:

I really like your videos putting together your layouts. Thanks for the prize.

  183. Nathalie Says:

Good morning to all! I have been a longtime follower so it is easy for me to pick favorites: the Sketch of the week is one and even though it is not only here but mostly on twopeas the 4X6 photo love is another recent one :)

  184. Kerstie Says:

Apart from this FANTASTIC weekend, I just love looking at your beautiful photographs from the class adverts to holiday trips. Your use of colour is spot on! I can always find some inspiration from your site x P.S. I also love your grammer – it’s perfect!

  185. Jamie D Says:

I LOVE your Blogging for Scrapbookers and Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers classes. I took them both this year and learned SO much!

  186. Kristin Says:

Good Morning (it’s just 10am here)! Having just “discovered” your lovely little blog it is hard for me to pick a favorite. It was a video you posted over on Ali Edwards’ blog that prompted me to visit, but the inspiration here that has kept me reading! I LOVE your commitment to keeping the blog ad-free and your comments regarding that commitment and I am in LOVE with this on-line crop. Something I’ve never done in the past, but would love to see you host again.

  187. Leslie Says:

I’m fairly new to your blog but have been enjoying the videos especially the “Make everyday a scrapbooking adventure” which hit a chord for me as I usually do events – this really made me think. Also the 4×6 Photo Love.

  188. Lisa M. Zepponi Says:

Ok this is easy! I love your video tutorials! your 4×6 Love is the bomb! I love when you show us how a layout comes together! Your cute personality and creativity makes me excited to push play! Love your weekly sketches!!

  189. Alison Says:

What I particularly like about you Shimelle is the liberation you engender … using 4 × 6 photos, using older supplies, things that aren’t “faddy” … it’s all about empowerment, relaxation and enjoyment! I particularly love hearing about your travels, and the absolute minimisation forced upon you when globe trotting – you travelled so lightly, and that’s really admirable!

  190. Juel Says:

I LOVE the weekly sketches. I save them to my computer that go into my sketches file so I know where to refer everyone when I share it on my blog.

  191. Tagati Says:

My favourite thing about your blog are the videos. I’m a retired IT professional, so am used to reading manuals (hard copy or e-books), and I find it so nice to be able to visually follow your methodology.

    Keep the videos coming!

  192. Carrie K Says:

layouts and sketches…i love watching you make stuff and when you walk us through your process…

  193. Leah Says:

My favourite has to be Learn Something New. I completed my whole album last year and I love looking back on it and the things I learnt. Can’t wait for this years!!

  194. Katie Says:

I have really enjoyed the 4X6 Photo Love series the best. I look forward to the videos each month from that series.

  195. Mary M. Says:

I hope I’m not too late… My favorite thing on your blog is your videos. I’ve learned so much from them and they are always so inspiring. I especially love the one that comes with the weekly sketch, because the sketches are great too and it’s so nice to get a little more in depth view of how to use them. Thanks so much for all the great work you do on this blog! =)

  196. jett Says:

I’m torn between sketches and your videos. I love sketches because they help launch me in a direction. However, I learn so much from your videos (guess I’m a visual learner). Thanks for all you do.

  197. CoCo Says:

Heya Shimelle. I have to say I LOVE JYC but also these ‘weekends’ are the best. Love that we can use our own stash…and am especially loving the extended ‘deadline’ this time around. I always get so much done. Thanks!

  198. Peggy Says:

So far, I like the “starting point” challenge best. I’m having lots of fun with the LO design, which I’m likely to use a lot in the future. Thanks, Shimelle.

  199. abbeyviolet Says:

I love the weekly sketch. I also am a huge fan of the proud scrapper video and things like it.

  200. Elaine J Says:

I think the whole blog is wonderful, but I particularly enjoy the Love 4 × 6 photo and your videos. Thanks for the inspiration Shimelle.

  201. Lyn Meadows Says:

Your inspiration just screams “Make Me” whether it is a sketch or colour combo that I would never have thought possible, you just make it all happen. Thanks so much.

  202. Beverley Says:

I have really enjoyed the recent videos about making embellishments with what we have in our stash. More instructional videos would be a hit with me,

  203. Funkipickle Says:

I stumbled upon your blog about a year ago, when I was starting to make cards again after a very long time away from the craft world. When I was a child I had an old fashioned scrapbook at my grandmothers and I would fill it with all sorts of odds and ends. I had forgottern how enjoyable it was and your blog and tutorials/classes made me rediscover my love for it. I really have enjoyed all the snippets, classes and tutorials you have posted. They have made me the stash addict I am now…I think I will have to go to crafters anonymous before long! Thank you :)

  204. Tina Mayo Says:

I like your videos and sketches..you inspire me to be a better scrapbooker..Thanks

  205. AllisonLP Says:

I love the videos that go along with the weekly sketches. It’s just so awesome to see the scrapbooking mind at work!

  206. Sarah Says:

I enjoy your videos and sketches the most. Your entire site is really inspiring.

  207. Jenny P Says:

If I had to pick just one thing, it would be sketches – love em! I’ve particularly enjoyed the 4×6 love series. But i also lobe that you scrap the same kind of things I do, especially travel. I’m inspired by your use of colour and layers. And of course I am addicted to your classes – they’ve been more successful at getting me scrapping than just about any other external inspiration.

  208. Linda S Says:

I love, love classes! Especially ones about techniques that you can use on your pages. I really need a class on fast pages and how to use sketches. Thank you so much for this weekend.

  209. Claudia McDaniel Says:

I love your videos for layout of the week and 4×6 photo love!!

  210. ellen Roberg-Askim Says:

Hi sweet you! I have always loved and taken inspiration from your design, and I was sad when scrapbookinspirations closed down, but happy when I found your blog. Still I do not visit it often and therefore I would like to make wish: Bigger letters. I do not know if your letters are smaller than what is common in blogs, but to me it simes so. Maybe I need new glasses? This was not what you asked for but maybe you will find it usefull anyway. Love and thankfulness from Ellen

  211. Meghann Says:

That is easy. I have been following you for a while now and my favorite post so far was the video you made for the AE blog. It was awesome! More videos please!

  212. Lydia Says:

Just one thing? That’s a bit tough. I’d have to answer your videos because I love your voice and the way you have adopted some English manners of speech without the full accent. Charming. And I love the chance to see how other people scrap, there’s always little techniques to pick up. But I also love your sketches and the challenges you’re postiing this weekend. Had to slip that in – hope it doesn’t disqualify me!!

  213. Mel Says:

I loved reading about how your scrapbooking style has changed over the years…I guess you can only write that once but I found it really interesting. I like videos, sometimes I just can’t get it unless I can actually see someone doing it.

  214. Trish Says:

Hi Shimelle – my favourites are probably your online classes (although it’s been too long since I had the time to join in with one!), but also I love the fact that your blog articles are generally quite in depth – not just a picture with a few words if you know what I mean?

  215. Tracey Says:

I adore the weekly sketches and walk through videos and also Love the 4×6 Photo Love. I feel so inspired after seeing the sketches and videos and it always helps me get scrapping. :)

  216. Lizzie Says:

Um…not quite “morning” any more, but this is my first chance to come and join in today!
My really absolutely favourite things on your blog are the posts about your travels, those showing the scrap pages you have been making and I also have really enjoyed your Weekends of Scrapping – in their various themes. That’s 3 types of posts… if I had to choose, I think it must be the Scrapping posts, because you do them often and I just enjoy coming here to find them, whenever I get time.
    Thanks Shimelle!

  217. Carol Anne Says:

I absolutely adore your classes. Your personality really comes through in your materials. I feel like you’re right there next to me, teaching me. That is such a gift. I’m glad you share it.

  218. Briel Says:

I have just started following your blog (after hearing you on the Roundtable). My favorite, so far is 4×6 photo love. It’s so great to have inspiration to use all of the photos I already have printed!

  219. rt in GA Says:

I love the from sketch to scrapbook series. There is so much inspiration from your videos!

  220. Julie Jeavons Says:

Research? For such a simple question? Although there’s loads to choose from the answer has to be Sketch-of-the-week.

  221. Kim Strother Says:

So far I love all the things on your blog, and every challenge you have given this weekend. My favorites from this weekend have been the color challenge and using old stickers!

  222. Katharina Says:

Oh, that’s not so easy. I love your weekly sketch really, but I often feel inspired from your 4×6 photo love too. At most I love your reallife workshops at the CAR in Germany lol
Many Greetings from rainy northern Germany
    Katharina

  223. Susi Says:

I love your videos – I only discovered them last week. I also love sketches.

  224. Rachel Says:

I love your videos! Your words are inspiring and I love seeing a peek of your albums and insight into your style!
I am also loving this weekend crop!

  225. Angie Gutshall Says:

For me it is your sketches! Love them and the videos!!

  226. Jen Clark Says:

I love your sketches, of course, the 4×6 class is especially my favorite at the moment because I mainly scrap 4×6… although I admit trying to branch out of that!! ~Jen

  227. Carolyn Says:

I love the crops you do like this weekend because they always get me scrapping again. I have also enjoyed several of your classes. I think that I may well start getting into your 6×4 postings soon as I have just started really enjoying this size.

  228. Jasmine Says:

I love the sketches, look forward to those each week. I enjoy finding out more about your process when you scrapbook. I really admire your style but have a hard time making my own pages free & dynamic, they always feel stiff & rigid. Would love to learn more about your decision making please. Enjoy reading all that you write though, especially the stories about your partner’s different viewpoint :)

  230. Natalie Says:

I really love your sketches, they always seem to help give me a starting point to scrap from – and the examples are also so inspiring too :) x

Scrapbooking-wise, the sketches or 4×6 love. But I also love that you throw in random things like making a baby onesie or a skirt out of a t-shirt.

Think I’ve got to this too late for your midnight (I’m in Oz) but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your series of travel posts recently. Loved the hints about packing light – you gave me some thought for future travel plans (maybe I need one of those whizzer things, lol) & ideas on taking & storing photos.

  240. Karen Says:

I am enjoying your 4×6 Photo Love series with 2 peas and also enjoyed your CHA round up. Non scrapbooking would be your stories about your travels.

My favorite posts have been the ones about the early years of your scrapbooking career. It was the most interesting read ever!

  242. Lindsey Says:

I LOVE when you include videos. I especially love your sketch of the week series. I always feel like I learn something new in your videos! Plus, you do a great job editing them and putting them together, so they’re a pleasure to watch!

I love the fact that there is never any pressure with your site, Shimelle! I have done Journal Your Christmas a couple of times, LSNED, and other classes too, and I never feel pressured and that lack of pressure somehow helps me to complete the projects – which are just brilliant for sharing!
