it's rare for me to make something to match someone's interior, but an antique map that stuck in my mind lead me to this meandering piece of work.  it marks another rarity for me as well -- something that i worked on off and on over several months.  it was originally much smaller. and flat.  then it was trashed by either customs or airport security and fixed by my grandfather and a few attempts at getting the glass to fit again.  anyway, in the end i really liked it.  so i gave it away.  i know, i know: i need to learn not to do that, really.
