Adding picture to a post

Hello

How would I add a picture in my post to show off the fun of Journalling my Christmas? Just can't seem to work it out and after scouring the boards can't seem to find an answer!

Any help much appreciated.

There are two ways to add a picture.

If the file is on your computer, write your post then look toward the bottom of the screen -- there are two tabs -- options and upload attachment. Click on upload attachment, select the file and click 'add the file'. The page will refresh, then you can submit your post.

If your file is on the internet, use the

tag. Right click on your image and copy the image location. Then create your post here and click the 'img' button on top of the box where you're writing your message. That will give you two tags that look like this:

Paste the address in between the two tags, like this:

[img]http://theaddressgoeshere.com/picture.jpg[/img]

And that should do it!

I have followed the instructions but response was that my file was invalid. What does this mean and how can I correct it? Frances

Frances, that sounds like your file is either in a format that can't be recognised or it's too big to display.

When you save your photo, save it as 600x600 pixels or smaller and as a .jpg file. If you see an option to compress the .jpg file when you are saving, you can usually compress a 600x600 jpg to between 50-60% without losing much of the quality. That will help make the file smaller in both pixels (inches on the screen) and bytes (space on your hard drive).

Hi Shimelle, I am having a similar problem posting with photographs. I can place a post to the page, but am unableto locate the tabs to add the attachment. The only thing below the posting box and the preview/save/cancel buttons is a POLL creation box and message history.

Can you help, please?

Attachments were temporarily offline between classes, but should be working now.
