Adding pic to my avatar

Hi, Even though i've resized my pic i can't seem to be able to add it as my avatar, do you know what i'm doing wrong?! I've reduced it down to a tiny e-mail size.

Have you checked if the file size is less than 6kb? I had to save mine as a minute gif file... and it always seemed to be slightly larger than the stated file size in its properties, so probably aim for about 4kb if you can.

Hi Bondai, thanks for replying, i'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to computers! so all i've managed to do is resize it to what my photo editing will let me do, which is pixels, i've gone right down to 25x25 pixels now & you can hardly make it out at all! I don't know how to resize it by kb though
I only have the software that is built in to the laptop

Do you have "Paint", "Microsoft picture Manager"? What's the name of the photo software that came with your laptop?

Hi Bondai, I have microsoft picture manager, i tried again last night, got it down to a pinprick size! But still no luck! Nevermind its not the end of the world! Thanks for your help though, i appreciate it

i'm in the same boat...i have my pic on another board that had similar restrictions, and when i right click on some of the image on this board, the properties indicate a larger picture size that what i have for a pic onthe other board, but i can't seem to get my pic up on this board (did that make ANY sense?!??!)

i use photoshop daily for work and in order to get the picture down to 6K and 100 x 100 pix max, the image is nowhere near legible!!!!

help!!!!!!!!!
