BLINKIES question
BLINKIES question
Hi Shimelle,
Pesty techno-phobe here! I was wanting to add many of the blinkies for the courses I have taken part in but obviously there is a limit to signature size. I have tried to copy the images and edit to a smaller size (as I have noticed several other people have managed) but I cannot do it!! I have tried saving as a word and pdf file but then cannot edit them in either picasa, or pse7. HELP!!!!!???? Do you know how I can do this?
Sorry to trouble you, any help gratefully appreciated! xxxx

Re: BLINKIES question
If you're using Picasa or PSE7 (PSE is probably the easier option) then you need to save as a JPG.
Here is what I would do:
*Open all the different blinkie images you want to include in PSE7 (all different files).
*Open a new file that has plenty of room - you can crop it to the right size later.
*Go to one blinkie, select all (ctrl+a), copy (ctrl+c).
*Go back to the new blank file. Paste (ctrl+v).
*Repeat with each image, using the arrow tool to move them around so you have them in the place where you would like.
*Use the crop tool to get rid of the extra space on the image once you have pasted everything in.
*Resize if needed.
*Save for web, as a JPG.
And that should do the trick!

Just one thing to add to Shimelle's comprehensive reply!
If you're having trouble getting the blinkie images in the first place, try right clicking on them (on the blinkie image itself, not the code); choose Save Picture As... from the menu that appears, and make sure it's a .jpg. Hope that helps

Re: BLINKIES question

You can get the image URL by right clicking on the image once you have uploaded it to a website, then find it under image information (on windows) or just select copy image address (on mac).
Then come here to the forum and go to the User Control Panel at the top left. From the menu at the left, then select Profile, then Edit Signature.
Then enter this in the signature:
Code: Select all

Re: BLINKIES question
Gayla -- you had an errant [ mark in your signature which was probably causing the trouble. I've deleted it now. Try again now!
